Positive: This house is just stunningly beautiful. More than 100 years old, and perfectly restored. Wooden beams, the scent of tatami and cedar wood, sliding doors. and lots of space. It has all the facilities one could possibly wish for: kitchen, several bathrooms, laundry, hot tub, sauna. It's sheer luxury. The beach is just 2 minutes from your doorstep, and a bus can take you back to the centre of Kamakura (or you can go for a 20 minute walk). Around the corner is a pleasant breakfast/lunch cafe. The friendly owner, Tadao, was very accommodating; he was waiting for us when we arrived a bit earlier than check-in time, and gave us a guiding tour around the house.

Summary: Beautifully restored old, spacious and luxurious beach house.

Positive: We were so comfortable here! Didn’t want to leave. After the hustle and bustle of the big cities this place has healed our souls. I would highly recommend staying here and I would love to return. The boat is also very kind and accommodating

Positive: This place is a treasure. So spacious and great for a family with 2 teenagers. Steps from the beach, and several cafes and restaurants. A bus stops near by to take you to the main hub where you can go anywhere. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Negative: That I can’t live there forever.

Positive: This is the perfect beach house. The outer part of the house has a lower floor to keep your (dirty) shoes and/or sandy feet apart from the clean upper floor. All the amenities are there -- excellent bathrooms and kitchen, good size table. There is a jacuzzi hot tub as well.

Negative: We had some trouble locating the place, though this is mostly our lack of familiarity with Japan, and probably because our smart phones are not so smart. In Japan, the roads are not named, which makes locating an address a little difficult . We finally relied on the longitude/latitude coordinates to find the house -- thanks to the host Tadao for providing those coordinates.

Summary: We really enjoyed it -- my friend who lives in the neighboring town of Zushi was also impressed.
