Positive: Shenaz is the perfect host and Kithul Cottage is a very special place! The location is beautifully set amongst the tea plantations and railway, and a stones throw from the stage 6 starting point for the Pekoe Trail. Shenaz was very attentive and provided a lot of information about the trail and area which was very helpful, including a short tour of the area around the property. The food was excellent and they were able to cater easily for a vegan diet. Shenaz was also so helpful in organising safe transfer of our luggage to our next stop along the trail. Highly recommend!

Positive: We had a wonderful stay with Shenaz! He picked us up in his very comfortable BMW from Negombo and made us feel welcome from the start. The top-floor room had a lovely view over the lush, jungle-like landscape — a peaceful place surrounded by nature. The room is large, cottage is simple and comfortable, great for those who enjoy a back-to-basics stay. The toilet is two floors down via outdoor steps, which is good to know for night visits. Shenaz is also a guide for the area and the Pekoe Trail so he showed us around and shared so much about Sri Lankan culture. We absolutely loved the dinners and breakfast that Ganga prepared. All farm to table, fresh and environmentally conscious and truly unique local recipes— a truly memorable experience!

Positive: Really pretty view and located in Watagoda at end of stage 5 of Pekoe trail. Super kind owner who even though was out of town was very communicative to make sure I had what I needed. Delicious dinner as well.

Negative: If you’re walking up the road to the property, there are some aggressive dogs that made me pretty nervous

Positive: Friendly, helpful host Preethi Self catering facilities supplied but inadequate..Better to have home cooked meals provided. Convenient at the end of Stage 5 of Pekoe trail.

Negative: Rather warm on a hot day, no cooling. Had to close windows against mosquitoes.

Positive: Our hosts were spectacular. So friendly, helpful and delightful. The food was amazing. Local, homegrown, organic and plentiful. Even the coffee and tea were home grown. Large room with a beautiful view over the valley.

Negative: A mosquito net over the bed would be helpful.
