Positive: Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing catering at dinner and breakfast. The lounge with drinks and snacks included was a welcome bonus too. We didn't use the nearby onsen nor the baths but they seemed very popular with other guests.

Negative: We're travelling with our teenager and as she isn't as much into nature and local cuisine as we were, she struggled a bit. She ate maybe half a plate of food out of the tlrather expensive priced per head buffet, most of which was bread and butter! It would have been great to be able to pre-arrange simple food, eg regular steak or grilled chicken rather than the slivers that were part of the buffet. The snacks in the lounge were also definitely geared more towards adults than kids/teens. But it is a hotel for grown ups I think, more than for families so I don't want to overstate this either because we parents thoroughly enjoyed it! The hotel does have a games area which was welcome.

Summary: A lovely hotel - perhaps better for couples or adults friends rather than families

Positive: Location, buffet food variety in breakfast and dinner is great, lounge and lobby very spacious and comfortable

Negative: Inflexibility of staff in turning off lights in lobby at 10 pm and in charging for extra key (plastic magnetic). The fitness room is not well equipped.

Positive: Breakfast and dinner were excellent I stayed several times already before in this hotel and had a room on a higher floor. This time I could not get this. Hope it is possible to get a room with ocean view on a higher floor again in the future.

Negative: The check-out paying the Onsen fee should be streamlined and/or made more efficient. Also: why not pay this fee on check-in. This is unclear to me.

Summary: I am looking forward to my next stay at this hotel, probably in September 2026.

Positive: Great location with view. Make to order Buffett dinner was a nice change compared to regular Buffett lines.

Negative: the foot bath area is right by the harbour, and the boats' diesel burning smell is quite bad sometimes.

Positive: Luxurious hotel with excellent facilities and great food.

Negative: One of the sushi counter staff was very rude to my young child and myself when we tried to place our order for sushi during the dinner buffet at the hotel. He interrupted our attempts to explain what we wanted with hand gestures and raised his voice to say stop before abruptly serving us with a selection of sushi which did not match what we asked for. He essentially did not wish to engage and had elected to raise his voice to move us along though there was no queue behind us save for one man. While the place was beautiful and we had no issues otherwise in the hotel or anywhere else we visited in Japan, the incident has unfortunately marred what would have otherwise been another great trip to Japan where we have known nothing but warm communications with locals (assisted by hand gestures and google translate) notwithstanding the language barrier which can exist where they do not speak English. The manager was informed but had merely nodded while distractedly speaking to someone else on his headset and did not say anything in response though the lady who assited in translating did apologise briefly. Basically, the service standards did not match the high quality of the furnishings and facilities of the hotel. The hotel was in short, a disappointment.
