Positive: Amazing views, though Kirkufell itself was more off to the side. The cottage itself is very spacious and clean, and it's located just outside of Grundarfjordur and not far from Snaefellsjokull NP.

Negative: Could use more shelves or hangers to hang clothing. Also, the sofa bed was not comfortable to sleep on

Positive: The scenery was beautiful, and the hotel had a great view. There wasn’t much light pollution nearby, so we could see a sky full of stars at night.

Negative: Unfortunately, the initial check-in information was unclear, and when we arrived we found that the room number given by the property manager was wrong, which led us to disturb the current guests. Fortunately, when we messaged the host via Booking.com, we received a quick reply, and shortly afterward a staff member came from town to the hotel to verify the situation. I recommend the hotel provide clearer check-in instructions and double-check details.

Positive: The view was just awesome. We got cabin no.5, and thus no blockage for the view to Kirkjufell. The room was comfortable for a group of 4. The sofa bed was spacious enough for 2 pax to sleep in the living area.

Negative: The water drainage is slow, but still acceptable.

Positive: The cottage was ok and the location was very beautiful with great views and close to hikes and the nearest town. We had to figure all that ourselves as there was no information about the area in the cottage.

Negative: The cottage had a sofabed that was unsuitable for sleeping; it was incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Their was a horrible (maybe septic tank) smell coming out of the drains in the shower, washbasin and the floor of the bathroom. If you closed the bathroom sliding door on to the shared living area you would be locked inside. The cottage would benefit from some cupboards or chest of drawers; for the price it is very uncomfortable to have ones things in suitcases or lying around the cottage as there is nowhere to store them.

Summary: Great location, too expensive for what the cottages offer.
