Positive: Such helpful staff, didn’t have much English, but they phoned someone who spoke English, to translate. Very nice room with view of Kars castle

Positive: Breakfast was fine .... everything was As you'd expect except being charged for tea and coffee making in the room .... and it seemed to be empty

Negative: Would be nice if it had a lounge or bar/cafe

Positive: There are a few hotels located in the historical Russian mansions, but this one is definitely the best. It's truly a boutique hotel, thoroughly restoring and preserving the epoch's atmosphere. All the staff members are very hospitable, helpful, and proud of their workplace and their city with its rich exciting history. But for a rather short holiday, we'd have loved to stay longer, this place does feel like home far from home.

Negative: The sound proofing of the windows is awesome, but without AC one can't stay with the windows closed, which makes late evening street noises, especially the live music from a nearby gourmet restaurant, rather disturbing. Yet, if you aren't an early bird, it doesn't really matter, because the city falls asleep right after midnight. (And yes, it gets up quite early, too.)

Summary: Wanna have a luxurious experience in the heart of Kars's rich history? This is the right place.

Positive: The staff was perfect, the manager even went with us to a small excursion through the city. The location of the hotel is great, in the old city center, 5 min to the fortress. Kars itself is an astonishingly lively and beautiful city!

Negative: I couldn't open both windows, and the floor (for morning exercises) wasn't very clean.

Positive: Very friendly inn-keeper and friendly staff. Helpful. Room was big and bright. Well protected againgst street noise. The breakfast room was modern and the food was well presented.

Negative: The internet signal in my room was too weak. There was no desk in my room, only a coffee table. This was better than nothing but sitll not optimal.

Positive: It was a lovely hotel and the staff were most accommodating. We had some trouble with the Wi-Fi and the staff were so helpful until we had our computers going. The breakfast was really nice. They were also helpful in finding us a wonderful guide and recommendations for dinner.
