Positive: Nicely situated on the river. A three minute walk across the bridge to the very cute town of Grand Forks. The facility is an older motel but the owners have done a good job of sprucing it up with good internet, instant hot water, and an upgraded bathroom. A big plus is that Johnny’s is dog friendly.

Negative: The rooms are a bit small, but well organized.

Summary: Good value for the money with a reasonable $25 pet charge.

Positive: The hotel room was very well outfitted: it had a microwave and a small bar fridge, so you could very easily make your own breakfast or reheat pizza, all the fixings for a comfortable stay. I should also mention that the hotel had been renovated expertly so that there were vinyl bathroom tiles and a king size bed. It really was like a suite.

Negative: We were disappointed that although it was June the swimming pool wasn’t open yet. It really isn’t high season for most of these small motels until July and August, so it’s easy to book accommodation at the last moment or even to show up and get a room. Conversely, no swimming pool because it’s too expensive to run one with a few people using it.

Summary: Nicely out of fitted rooms very close to downtown Grand Forks, which is a pleasant delightful small community
