Positive: A really lovely cottage, great value for money, everything was spotless and extremely comfortable. We loved the location too, perfect for visiting some well known parts of the Lakes but also a really lovely village in itself.
Negative: A parking spot would make it perfect, but it really wasn't an issue as we always found one extremely close by.

Positive: Perfect location and very comfortable. Sufficient space for a family of 4 with adult children. There is a shop across the road and a lovely cafe (Wilf's) for breakfast. Unfortunately the pub wasn't serving food on the days we were there and the chippie was also closed. There was some milk in the fridge, a few sachets of coffee, biscuits and a bottle of prosecco top welcome you.
Negative: The stairs are very steep and you have to climb into a high bath to have a shower
Summary: Lovely little cottage in a great location

Positive: We had a great long-weekend during the Easter holiday period at Jessie's Cottage. The place was easy to find, great location and some beautiful nature around with ice cream shops, bakeries and a shop in the street. The house itself is small, but clean and tidy, with some good sense of design choices. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped - probably one of the most well equipped kitchen I've seen so far. We didn't have too much personal contact with the hosts - rather just the standard email communication, but to be fair we didn't really need to as everything was simple to find and the "manual" for the house was quite extensive.
Negative: Parking: this wasn't super clear where is the "offsite location" for parking that is free, so we mainly parked on nearby streets if we found a space which was sometimes a bit of a struggle as there weren't many (during a very busy period as well).
Summary: Excellent stay for a family

Positive: Upon arrival access was extremely easy by retrieving the keys from a keysafe on the door with the code we had been emailed. Inside was small, warm and cosy, just right for a family of 4. The cottage is tastefully decorated and it has some lovely pictures and ornaments. We were supplied with good quality towels, and the beds were extremely comfortable. A surprise welcome basket too! The shower was also amazing! The Wi-Fi code was written on a card on a sidetable. The kitchen is well equipped. The view from the main bedroom is picturesque. The village itself was an ideal location to access all the points of interest we wanted to visit. Lake Windermere just 3 miles away, Kendal 5 miles, Beatrix Potters Hilltop House was around 40 minute drive and Hadrians wall just over an hour, we even went to Gretna Green. There is a handy Spar across the road and a local pub. There were some lovely walks around the village too.
Negative: Just some petty small things...we could have used the parental password for the TV, we could have had more coasters as we had to take the coasters from upstairs, under the sofa was accidentally found to be quite dirty, we would have liked to use a hoover but there were only brushes. The local pub happened to be full the one evening we visited we luckily got the last table and the food wasn't the best☹️.the kids chose chicken goujons, which were overcooked and stringy, i had to have soup, which was lovely, but the only main I would have liked was unavailable. My husband enjoyed his scampi though.
Summary: Comfortable, relaxing and pleasant.
