Positive: Catherine, our lovely host was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment she greeted us upon arrival (actually, from the moment we booked she answered some queries). She did all she could to make us feel comfortable and at home (including kindly supplying us with an onion and washing powder!). The Cottage was most spacious and well-equipped, with great views overlooking hills and fields. Great laundry room and TVs in each room. There was much privacy and peace and quiet. We may return as a retreat!

Negative: Unnerving, narrow country lanes with high hedges to reach the property from the main road. However, after the initial trip, with practice and a foot over the brake it wasn't insurmountable. Be prepared to self cater. Arriving on a Monday evening, no local pubs within 5-10 miles were open for a much hoped-for dinner. There may be a way of asking Catherine to supply a 'Welcome Hamper' of basic grocery items (for a small charge of course)... A few cobwebs were noted... but we were in the countryside.

Positive: Jack’s cottage was well presented, clean and comfortable. The views are lovely.

Negative: Initially the cooker did not work, but this was replaced by the owners within 24 hours.

Summary: Our stay was relaxing and comfortable, with plenty to see and do in the area.

Positive: Lovely, accommodating hosts who made us feel very welcome. Beautiful, tranquil views. Very restful and comfortable environment inside and out. Beautiful area of Devon with plenty to entertain come rain or shine.

Negative: The narrow, high-hedged roads made driving scary! However, it does mean that the property is immensely peaceful.
