Positive: Very near to biwako. And spacious place if you are going with group or family. All the facilities are available. You can cook, spend timing in lounge, take a dip in biwako.

Negative: Everything was far. I was a solo traveller.. so it was very inconvenient. Nearest conveince store was 25min walk. No escalator or elevtor at omi maiko. So you have to carry your luggage. No bus no taxi from station to hostel. So I walk 20 min with luggage. It is a very convenient place if you have car. Otherwise carry your food.

Positive: Plenty of room in the dorm, clean, close to the Lake Beach, lunch and dinner options near by, aircondition in room

Negative: Just be sure to buy your breakfast before going. There are some options to buy on the hostel but if you were in situation like me and need to exchange money before, you have to go to the nearest store 15-20 mins away by foot, because staff do not respond to the calling bell before 10:00

Positive: Fab location and fantastic facilities! Kitchen/Common Room great.

Negative: AUD $15 each to sit around a BBQ to cook your own food. We get those for free in Australia, so we're not sure if the poster was written up incorrectly.
