Positive: House was full of amenities and comfort. Great location for enjoying with family and friends. The owner was very helpful, we missed few of the baby stuffs and the owner agreed to send the items to my location.

Negative: Everything was just perfect.

Positive: A spacious 2-level house, large enough for our little family of 3. Although we didn't get to meet with the owner but can feel he is kind and welcoming. The house has provided what we needed for the night - clean environment and well-maintained facilities. We slept on the tatami which is the traditional Japanese style bedding on the floor, also a very nice experience for tourists like us.

Negative: The house is located in the middle of genuine Japanese countryside. When we drove to the house, the local express way was both dark and unfamiliar. Would recommend getting to the house during day time if you are not a local. The owner is an obvious cat lover, which was demonstrated by 5-6 puzzles of cat themes framed and hung in the living room. Is this too much for guests who are not that into animals? A final side note is that we saw mosquito in the room luckily electronic mozzie repellent was provided.

Positive: The lakehouse is a newly build house and is right on the lake, for the town and other things you are a little far out, so a car is necessary. There were a lot of facilities and appliances in the kitchen. The owner was caring and left a lot of do’s and don’ts in the information.

Negative: The ventilation could have been better, the house is warm and upstairs somewhat stuffy

Positive: Honestly, this place was fantastic and we were sad to just spend one night there. The area is nice and remote, less than a minute walk from Lake Biwa. We were able to wash our clothes and get a great night's rest. But the best part of our stay were the hosts. I don't know their names, but they were so kind to us. The husband took is to the Floating Gate, waited for us and drove is to the nearest train station! That was awesome.

Negative: There was really nothing to dislike. But if I had to say one thing, I would say that 16,000 yen is a bit pricey for the accommodation IMO. But I think up to four people can stay, which would be 4,000 yen pp per night. Another thing to note (even though you can see this on a map before booking this place) is that it's quit isolated if you don't have a car. The house is a stone's throw from Lake Biwa, but it's far from things like convenience stores and any of the local attraction.l So that's something to be aware of.
