The house probably dates back to the 17th century. In earlier times, it used to be the workshop of a cooper. In 2007, we bought the house, renovated parts of it, and have modernized it further over time. We have decorated this jewel, paying attention to details to keep them as authentic as possible, always with a reference to Hunawihr, which is among the most beautiful villages in France. Be inspired by the charm and historic ambience of your holiday home with its impressive timber-framed inside and the all the modern comforts. You will find a holiday paradise on a space of 150 square metres –enough space for families with children or 8 adults. It is important to us that you could feel good and be excited to stay here, and we hope to count you among our regular guests soon. In this sense, we look forward to meeting you!

Summary: What a wonderful stay we had in this antique home, decorated with love and care! We admired all the old timber that was in all the rooms. From each room, we had a beautiful view of the vineyards. We can only recommend a stay in this quaint village of Hunawihr which seems much more authentic than the more known neighboring villages of Riquewihr and Ribeauville. The host, Frank, took good care of us and was readily available to answer any questions we had. We will definitely come back!

Summary: The house is in a beautiful town surrounded by vineyards and very close to other famous towns on the wine route. We explored and enjoyed all of the towns. In the last week of October the leaves of the vines had turned a golden color. A very enjoyable stay in a very clean and well equipped hoiuse.

Summary: Franks house has everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. The house is just as photographed in a very quaint village and lots to see and do in a short distance. Frank was very helpful in all aspects of our stay and would highly recommend his home. Hopefully we will get back soon.

Summary: We loved Hunawihr; it is a quiet town (except for the church bells) that is walking distance to two livelier towns (Ribeauville and Riquewihr) so the best of both worlds. It provides good access to hiking and biking and lots of history. The Gite Tonnalier is spacious and well equipped. Two recommendations for improvement: a functioning clothes washer and a second set of keys.

Summary: We absolutely loved this property. It was located in a wonderful village, within walking distance of Riquewihr and Ribeauville and only short car drives from other places of interest. Hunawihr itself was a quiter location which we appreciated and it had a handful of good restaurants and a local bakery/store for small shopping items and fresh croissants. The house itself was larger than we expected and was really well furnished, and renovated and we loved that it had a garden too. Frank was really helpful and a lovely host, very accommodating given we were very late to arrive. We would certainly recommend this property and the location.

Summary: We spent a lovely week in Hunawihr at Frank's house. Hunawihr is a charming village between two "touristy" villages, Riquewihr and Ribeauville. However Hunawihr is a charming working village with two very pleasant restaurants in the village and a nice little village shop. We have rented houses for many years and this house was amongst the best. It is very well equipped and Frank is a charming man. We had a slight problem in that the previous renters had broken the washing machine and Frank had not had time to get it repaired. However he kindly offered to do any washing at his own house. That is excellent customer service.

Summary: Hunawihr is a perfect spot for a holiday in Alsace: close to everything, and yet in a quiet enough to get away from it all. And Frank's property was perfect for our family's week-long stay. The pictures represent the home perfectly; it's a nice mix of modern and traditional, with everything you'd need to be comfortable. Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Frank was very helpful from beginning to end, and there is plenty to see and do in Hunawihr and around. There are several wineries (the whole town is surrounded by rolling vineyards), a fortified church, walking paths and cycling routes. It is also an ideal location from which to base any other sightseeing in the region -- day trips to Colmar, Strasbourg, etc, were easily planned. All in all we would highly recommend a trip to Hunawihr, and a stay here!

Summary: It is difficult to chose a place for our annual holiday with my elderly parents but the warm welcome we received from Frank put my mind at ease immediately. The house is beautifully renovated with very comfortable beds and everything we needed to relax. The only issue was the stairs for my elderly father but for most people it really wouldn't be an issue. Perfectly situated for visiting the beautiful villages of Alsace it only took us 30 minutes to reach Strasbourg for a great day out. The stork and otter sanctuary in Hunawhir is an absolute must and simply wandering around this enchanting village made a lovely evening stroll to try and work off dinner! There are 3 good restaurants in the village and plenty more in the nearby village or Reqwuihr. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Alsace and Bite Tonnelier as a perfect place to stay.
