Positive: Comfy rooms with plenty of space, everything you need. Love seeing the sunrise over the water from the windows, or relaxing on the patio with a cup of coffee. Very peaceful.

Negative: Nothing. We've come here just sit every year for years. Great place for a family.

Positive: The room was tastefully decorated and very clean and comfortable. We especially liked the enclosed ‘balcony’ with a view of the water. Would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Beautiful setting and well appointed room. It was very clean and quite comfortable. Location was convenient to Rockland, Rockport and Camden.

Negative: An elevator would have been nice - but then, we bring way too much stuff!!!

Positive: Great check in experience. We didn't realize that Strawberry Hill Inn had the same owner and that it was right next door when we were booking our hotels for the week, so when got to Strawberry Hill Inn to check in, the receptionist informed us that we had booked 2 days there and 2 days at Island View, which is right next door, so they put us in Island View for the whole time so we didn't have to move. We all got a good laugh. I said at least I was consistent in the view that appealed to me! We also loved the area under the tent with Adirondak chairs, down by the water.

Negative: Wish there was a common area for morning coffee in the lobby. My husband gets up early and likes to hang out and enjoy his coffee, but it was too cold to be outside when we were there, and he didn't really have a place to go. Evidently, he went into the owner's quarters by the front desk, thinking that was a place for guests. oops.

Positive: Everything was excellent. The room decor, the view from our balcony, the convenience of being close to both Rockland & Camden and the pleasant staff were outstanding. We will return and stay at the Island View Inn on our next visit to the area. The Farnsworth Museum will lure us back!

Negative: A continental breakfast in the morning would be the only request. Coffee & tea only were available in the lobby.

Positive: When I ordered chinese take out from Hong Kong Island, they didn't include any silverwear/plasticwear but the front desk staff fixed me right now! May be good to stock in rooms just in case.

Negative: The shower curtain did not contain the water in the shower. It flooded the floor and took a few hours to dry. Normally there is a towel to put down on the floor in addition to the body towel, face towel, wash cloth. Also it would have been nice to have a couple sets of each.
