Positive: A truely magical place to stay in an equally wonderful city. It exceeded all our expectations. Ipogea is a place we will remember for years to come. The house is breathtakingly beautiful. A perfect balance of old and new design. And the sauna and steam room!? (Wow!) Christina warmly welcomed us with great chats about the history of the building and the town. She also kindly gave us some local recommendations (and stocked the kitchen with breakfast and snacks) We have traveled all over the world and honestly this place is sensational. World class. We felt incredibly lucky to have found the apartment. Don’t look anywhere else! This is where you want to stay in Matera! (It’s also relatively easy to find which is a bonus) Thank you team Ipogea, for helping us make family memories :)
Negative: Having to leave :)
Summary: One of the best places in the world to stay

Positive: We stayed with our family for two days and were very satisfied. The apartment is wonderful, spacious, and uniquely designed, with a sauna and a small steam bath that our son really loved. Breakfast was included, as the fridge was fully stocked with food – a very nice touch. The location is excellent, with convenient access to both Matera’s old town and the new city. We found free parking on city streets about a 20-minute walk away, or just a 3-minute Uber ride. Matera left a great impression on us, and staying at Ipogea Apartments made it even more special – it truly feels like staying in a luxurious cave.
Negative: We had no complaints.

Positive: Located at the top of city and easy to find. Sauna and steam room were great facilities to have at end of days walking. Breakfast was provided by hosts with local Matera bread (yum) , meats and cheeses, milk, juice, yoghurt, fruit and more. Hosts showed us around and gave history of the building which was a lovely touch.
Negative: Would have liked some extra pillows and also something to dry towel on as only couple of hooks but just small things would absolutely recommend and return.
