Positive: The Intercontinental Hotel is unusual to the other ones I have stayed in. The suite we stayed in was very big and very well done in a typical Interncontinental luxurious style. Decor is nice but falls short of functionaliy.

Negative: The Intercontinental Hotel is unusual to the other ones I have stayed in. They could have focused on functionaliy a bit more. Other support services for international toursits is very poor. Great hotel for local tourists. Food, language, services and staff are not geared towards anyone who is not Chinese. Maybe not a good recommendation for international tourists. Its located in the "Global Center" when it should be called local center. Not value for the money we paid.

Summary: Expensive luxurious hotel for local tourists - not great for intl visitors.

Positive: I liked the fact that you could look at the whole indoor pool part from your balcony, unfortunately the park was being renovated while we were there so it was cold and not so nice to look at. The room was great and so was the staff. The breakfast was really nice and with a lot of options.

Negative: The location was a bit too far from Chengdu center but we made that choice to stay in the big mall so not really something to blame the hotel for. It's just a taxi trip to the center so no big deal.

Summary: First time in Chengdu and it was great!

Positive: The center was very impressive with lots of activities.

Negative: The noise from the wave pool was a bit constant. But it did end at a good hour for sleep.
