Single storey with light, airy, huge open plan interior and adjacent off road parking. Central location for touring Western Brittany. The track outside the Gites leads you down through the woods to the river Douffine. Newly decorated and furnished in a relaxed, fresh, country style. English speaking owners live on site in main farmhouse. Suitable for all year round use with full electric heating included and wood-burner fire, ideal for chilly evenings and winter breaks. All linen provided. Initial basic supplies of tea/coffee, milk, fresh bread, butter, salt and pepper, French cheese and bottle of local cider are all included and will be waiting in your gite for your arrival. Cleaning materials provided. First basket of chopped wood included between October and April. Separate secure storage can be made available for bikes, surf boards, fishing tackle and roof racks etc. Glass front door opens on to small, secluded terrace garden with views and walks to river, woods and surrounding countryside.

Summary: Claire and Richard found a home in the heart of the country. They transformed their barn into two pleasant, spacious gites, and we were glad to enjoy two glorious weeks there. Penlan is perfectly suited to explore all of Finistère and in the vicinity of the Crozon peninsula. Quiet country roads make the whole area a perfect terrain for cycling. You also have lots of opportunities for walks (get the IGN map Plougastel-Daoulas); in regions like the beautiful Monts’ Arrée you can walk for hours with hardly meeting anyone. You may also stay at home, sit outside in the sun and admire the gardening. Smell the grass in the meadow!

Summary: Excellent location, ideally placed to explore the finisterrae region, calm and charmful. Richard and Claire were very welcoming and helped us to have a great time (wifi, bbq, advices...). We recommend this property and will come back soon!

Summary: Lovely area....Richard and Claire very friendly and helpful. Gite is well equipped. Shower brilliant!! Downside for me was the high steps into gite....the bed was low and rather hard!! Not good for someone with bad knees! Overall tho great stay!

Summary: Richard and Clare are very nice and attentive hosts. Willingly they answered our questions and gave tips for a nice holiday. The accommodation was very easy to get to, very clean and everything we needed was available. We felt very comfortable.

Summary: This is a well-presented gite with all requirements catered for. Unfortunately, the weather was not wonderful but we could not have wanted for better accommodation. Richard was very accommodating when we needed to add a third bed at short notice. The property is big enough to handle this without a problem
