Summary: I never enjoy giving a negative review but I do feel I should mention some disappointing aspects of our stay. We have stayed at this hotel on at least 5 previous occasions but for this stay our experience was very different. We looked forward to being able to eat at the restaurant for dinner but was told the restaurant and bar was closed for a month, we didn’t receive notification of this prior to check-in. We were told to go to the pub next door which we did on the first night of our 3 night stay, while we were not disappointed in the food at the pub the noise was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation without raising our voice. We did not see housekeeping during our stay. I tried to retrieve something that had fallen under the bedside table and the wooden table fell apart narrowly missing my face but hitting my arm. The WiFi hardly worked in the room, anytime we tried either it didn’t work at all or buffeted so badly we stopped trying. On a brighter note the breakfast was good with a decent selection except for coffee from the coffee machine.

Summary: I really enjoyed my stay at Eagle Ibis Canberra. It’s a nice, quiet place with clean rooms and a clean toilet. A comfortable and peaceful stay—I would happily recommend it.

Summary: A very bad experience for us which had us checking out early after the first night. Our bathroom was not properly cleaned, we arrived to find a ball of hair on the floor and the toilet reeked of urine and there was stained toilet paper stuck under the rim. Reception told us there were no rooms available to move us to and the cleaning staff had left for the day. My kids would hold their breath when using the bathroom and would not shower there. We couldn’t wait to get out! Other than that the resort itself is quite run down, but no issues with the staff we encountered.
