Positive: The barbecue area and the patio of the house gives you privacy and freedom. Zaros is not run down by tourists so you have a possibility to see a little bit of the everyday life. The gorge nearby is also worth visiting apart from wonderful southern beaches which are not colonised by travel agencies.

Negative: Parking and driving is a challenge. Be prepared for the wilde west...Do not trust googlemaps when driving to the beaches in the south, shortcuts they suggest may result impossible for the car you rented (narrow, steep roads, never ending turnings, narrow street or canyons).

Positive: Really great and comfortable place. Very clean. The owners are very friendly and give you some great advice. In the middle of the village, very close to the lake. Very well equipped kitchen with all the basics. The owners left us some crackers, jam, home made preserves, raki. Great for a family of 3 or 4! Even better than the photos, exceeded my expectations.

Positive: Everything was amazing during our stay! it's definitely one of the best houses I have stayed in Crete! Its a traditional house which is very beautifully renovated , it was super clean and cozy. It was a last minute booking in low season (December) so we really appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail. We had good communication with the hosts about entering the house etc.. The location was also great as it's very close to the lake and to the starting point of many amazing hikes in the area.
