Summary: Hosts Cristina and Luca are superb in offering you a place that oozes charm, the Appenines, cleanliness and comfort. It is the perfect place to come back to after a day in tourist Italy. From there, we took the train to Lucca, Pisa, Firenze and we drove 2.5 hours to Venice (the high speed train would have cost too much). We were also able to explore the local areas, taste local fare (cheaper than in the main tourist areas) and have a wonderful nights’ sleep in our apartment. Cristina and Lucca invited us to share the view of the Bloodmoon with them over a glass of wine. From them, we learnt more about Italy and its people. I cannot fault anything about our stay or holiday in Italy or at I Castagni Dei Medici. I would definitely recommend I Castagni Dei Medici as a place to stay.

Summary: The property is beautifully renovated and located in a very tranquil and peaceful area north of Florence. The facilities are very good with beautiful bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen/dining area. Cristina and her husband (and Hugo!) are terrific hosts and it was a perfect base for our working break in Tuscany!

Summary: Beautiful property set in an amazing location. The house has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard. All the facilities you could require were provided for. The house was spotlessly clean. Cristina and Luca were exceptional hosts and lovely people. We had a gorgeous time staying there and would definitely return.

Summary: The owners were very friendly, the place was super clean, beautifully decorated and with beautiful views from high over the countryside. Florence was only half an hour away by car. We would have loved to stay longer and would definitely go back!

Summary: We were very happy to stay in this house which is a beautiful. The cleaning was perfect. The house is located in a calm lanscape where you can see deers, rabbits and birds. You can linger in the garden while your kids are playing around. It is big enough for barbecueing also. The house is half an hour drive from Florence which is convenient if you plan to make your own meals. Our hosts are vey kind and eager to provide you with information about good restaurants and all available activities in the area.

Summary: We spent 1 week stayng in Caterina in July 2011 and had a fantastic time. The location, size and style of the villa was perfect for us. Stunning views in peaceful surroundings but still just 20mins from Florence. It is ideal for those who want to be able to see the sites and relax when you come home. The drives to the Chianti region, Sienna and San Marino (2.5hr drive through the mountains but worth it) were superb. The owners we very helpful and recommended great things to do and see and places to eat. We would defininelty recommend this villa and hope to go back ourselves next year.
