Positive: The hotel has a certain old-style charm, and the larger rooms on the 1st floor are sizeable and comfortable. The staff is attentive and pleasant and the location is very central.

Negative: There were too many unexpected problems. I had just come from the jungles of Peru, where I went without cold showers for three months. I was specifically looking forward to a hot shower once I got to Costa Rica, and even paid a little more for a bigger room with a shower en suite. Alas, the hot water wasn't working that night. Also, later that night the internet went out and was out for the duration of my stay. While I was moved to another room with hot water, the internet never came back on and I decided to move to another hotel.
