Positive: They upgraded me to a suite which was nice but unnecessary. The hotel is an old hotel that has been very well maintained. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was clean and suitable for my stay. There was no coffee service in the room. The restaurant was nearly empty but the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
Summary: Nice place to stay in Georgetown near George Washington University.

Positive: 24hour reception and security.
Negative: The property is extremely old and poorly maintained. Upon check-in, they held a security deposit on my card for potential damages. However, as soon as I entered the room and tried to close the curtain, the entire window frame/shutter assembly (stori) collapsed and fell completely off! It was an extremely dangerous situation and I could have been severely injured. This was caused entirely by the run-down, fragile condition of the property and total lack of proper maintenance, not by guest negligence. It is completely unacceptable that a property in such a hazardous condition holds a damage deposit while exposing guests to real safety risks.
