Positive: Room had a beautiful view of the harbor. The staff were very kind and attentive. There is an onsite restaurant or a restaurant a short walk down the hill. The property was gorgeous and the bedding comfortable.

Positive: This space was beautiful, new, and clean. The attempt is very upscale and nice.

Negative: It stills feels very new. Staff seem to be bumping into each other, and not everything is figured out. We had dinner one night and it’s not right yet for the money, but the idea is right and they are really trying so check the date of this review and consider what 6 months will do for this team.

Positive: Staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond to meet our needs. They even gave me a birthday surprise. I like that the rooms are big and spacious (versus the usual Japanese rooms which can be very small) - perfect for our family of four with 2 kids. Everything still feels new and very clean. There is also a small lounge with free drinks and snacks.

Negative: Nothing I particularly disliked about the hotel itself but I would only recommend if you are driving. It is not very accessible by bus/train/tram if you are carrying huge luggages as it is on a hill and is pretty steep climb.

Positive: Location is very convenient to sights. Nice setting. Ms Miyu Kodama, who tries to compensate for the shortcomings of all her colleagues, not only language wise, but also in engagement.

Negative: None of the staff understand or speak english except Miyu Kodama, who works in the restaurant and tries to compensate a lot for her colleagues. Kudos!!! Cupboards in room are very dusty on top. Food in restaurant is not really value for money.

Summary: Disappointed versus online appear. Great location with poor execution.

Front desk manager Daesan Hong is an absolute gem, he speaks excellent English and provided us with invaluable recommendations and assistance throughout our visit. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The entire staff was outstanding—welcoming, professional, and always ready to help—which truly made our stay special. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending historical charm with modern comfort. As you arrive, it looks like you're driving into a stunning movie set. Such elegant decor was also chosen for the lobby and common areas. Our room was spotless, with a comfortable bed, large bathroom and an amazing view. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I especially enjoyed the generous number of pillows (four) on each bed. One of the highlights was dining at the restaurant for lunch. The dining room is so beautiful with stained glass windows and the food was simply delicious—we especially enjoyed the burger and grilled chicken, both prepared with fresh local ingredients. While the views and design were spectacular, it was the incredible staff that truly made this hotel a great place to stay. We highly recommend Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street to anyone looking for top-notch hospitality in Nagasaki. We would love to stay here again!

Positive: Beautiful boutique hotel. The lovely attentive staff made our stay worthwhile. Their thoughtfulness was the best part of our trip to Nagasaki. Everyone remembered us and our preferences. I enjoyed the tea and sweets offered upon check-in - a nice touch bc it saved me the headache of deciding which place to get the castell cakes from. I enjoyed the location, just a little bit away from the main town. I enjoyed walking to Nagasaki Station (20 mins), passing along Chinatown, Dejima and the harbor. Hailing from San Francisco, I enjoyed the steep hills. Invest in the walk up to Glover Garden and the Sky Road was and you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views in the morning and evening.

Negative: The staff is really helpful, so ask them to book a reservation for even outside restaurants. We forgot to and got turned away at nearly every restaurant during the busy Lantern Festival.
