Positive: We loved our stay at this hotel, which was the first stop on our eastern leg of the trip in Iceland. It was surrounded by trees, something we had missed after coming from the Westfjords and Northern Iceland. We were also fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights during our stay. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that was included with our stay.

Summary: Perfect first stop in East Iceland—trees, great breakfast, and a magical Northern Lights show!

Positive: What a gem this hotel was! We happened to get a free upgrade to a room with a lake view. The price was decent and the entire complex was almost luxurious. Even though it is in the middle of nowhere, they cater for everything that one would require. We certainly had a good time during our dinner as well as at our breakfast the next morning. I still can't believe what a delicious and plentiful buffet they prepared for their guests. Even though the hotel is a bit off the Ring Road, it is certainly worth a stay.

Negative: A little off the beaten track, but nevertheless worth a visit.

Positive: Good location and building. The reception desk is very helpful since we’re last minute booking due to the bad weather and checked in late.

Negative: The two girls served the breakfast need more hospitality training. They treated us as if we tried to cheat in when they couldn’t find our room number in their previous night print out. It was humiliating to be treated like that.

Positive: This hotel provides classic hotel amenities and service -- something that is rare nowadays -- for a very good price. Our Superior room was spacious and everything was very clean. The breakfast buffet was very good, the dinner buffet excellent with a wide choice of salads.

Positive: The location was perfect, and the waitress from the restaurant was very lovely to us. Amazing view from the window :)

Negative: The fact that we had to make the reservation in the hotel reception. It was not necessary for us to walk one way to another a couple of time - even thought the restaurant was closed.
