Positive: Very handy to get into Uttoxeter, lovely cottage, nice and cosy, nice pub 2 minutes walk away

Negative: The directions were hard to follow, we spent a good hour looking for the property.

Positive: It was in a lovely location, near to the bus stop. Be aware this is not in Ashbourne. The closest town is Uttoxeter. We caught the bus to Sudbury Hall one of the days. Great wifi, comfy beds

Negative: There was zero contact with the owners. I sent a couple of messages before we arrived, with no response. When I requested a check in between 3-4 it was automatically declined. I know we've had a rainy Feb but feel like the grass shouldn't have been left in such a state, especially as we had dry weather. The listing says it's detached but it isn't. (Also says it's in Ashbourne but it isn't). There is no iron or ironing board, which is what I'd expect from the most basic of accommodation. We were provided 1.5 rolls of toilet paper which ran out on day 2...I think a lot of issues could be resolved with some better communication from the owners. It's booked via booking.com, via Sykes....cut out the middle men please 🙏

Positive: Location was easily accessible by road, but set back from the traffic, which meant for a quiet's night sleep. Cute set up, and kitchen reasonably well kitted out with pots, pans, crockery etc

Negative: The automated messages on booking were completely excessive, and then when we tried to get in touch several times, we were completely ignored.

Negative: There was no washing machine, iron,ironing board, but we were fine, just a little creased,road noise early morning but got used to it

Positive: Great property - very clean and well presented. Kitchen had all the equipment required. Whilst the parking isn't off street, we found plenty on the street outside. Visited Alton Towers X2 and Dovedale. I would describe the location as closer to Uttoxeter than Ashbourne but this worked well for us. Pub within stumbling distance and nice running routes around the village. We'll visit again for future Alton Towers visits.
