Positive: Helen was super responsive and a great host. Hope Terrace was a short walk from the village (on a hill) with spectacular views). The cottage is very well appointed and she went the extra mile to ensure all our questions were answered and provided us some guiding tips on our trekking adventure.

Summary: Fantastic property and views were gorgeous! We very much enjoyed our stay and so convenient

Positive: Location is perfect for walks and visits to neighbouring towns in Derbyshire. Beautifully laid out. Very well equipped, clean

Negative: Bath towels would be a good addition. I know it was mentioned in the email but for a weekend away and a small bag it’s not easy to fit in a big towel. Parking is shocking.

Positive: Fantastic property for two families. Had everything we could possibly need. Bedrooms were plenty big enough, particularly with a travel cot. Spacious kitchen and dining area. The hosts were kind enough to offer us free tickets to the Matlock Baths illuminations and very kindly left a few little Halloween treats for the kids. Very thoughtful and appreciated! Perfect base for exploring the Peak District. Bakewell, Chatsworth House, various fantastic National Trust sites within a relatively short drive away. Matlock 5 minutes down the road with no shortage of restaurants and a great park for the smaller ones. 100% recommend.

Negative: Parking for only one car outside the property, which for most will be fine. We had two between the two families. Alternative street parking near to the property up a steep hill, or a five minute walk down in the train station car park. We only had to pay for parking there once and we stayed an entire week. Just something to bear in mind. Otherwise no complaints!

Positive: Property was much bigger than I expected. It was extremely well equipped.

Negative: I was not .prepared for the steepness of the hill in order to get to the property. There was a 75 year old, and a person with mobility problems in my party. This is the only negative comment I have.
