Positive: I initially booked one night at Homebase Homestay, but I ended up extending my stay and even coming back later during my trip, which says everything about how much I enjoyed it. Nakuru has the most birds I’ve seen anywhere in Kenya, and it was an incredible experience. I did two safari drives, and Cecilia was so kind to help me find other travelers to share the costs, which made everything much more affordable. From the moment I arrived, I immediately felt at home. The place truly deserves its name, Homebase Homestay. I also booked a driver and car directly through the homestay for a longer trip to Samburu, Mount Kenya, Baringo, Bogoria, Naivasha, Maasai Mara, and Amboseli. Zakaria, the driver, was excellent. He gave me a truly authentic experience, guiding me not only around the parks but also to great local food spots and sharing insights about the culture and daily life. The room was clean, spacious, and very reasonably priced. It was very convenient to have a bar on-site and a restaurant where Joseph prepared delicious meals. The staff answered all my questions, were always friendly, and I never felt pushed into booking anything. They genuinely offer fair prices and great value. Thank you, Cecilia, Zakaria, Joseph, and the whole team for making my stay so memorable. I truly appreciate your kindness and hospitality. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Nakuru or planning safaris around Kenya. It really feels like a home away from home.

Negative: If you sleep early like me, you may need some ear plugs because they play music on Friday nights until around 10 pm.
