Summary: The home is small, but clean and everything you need is there (e.g. toaster, egg boiler). We were welcomed very kindly, and the owners (who live in the other part of the house with grandma and -pa) gave us marmelade and pastry. If you want to walk the 'Rennsteig', you have to drive to a startpoint by car, but the mommelsteinweg is just 50m away. We enjoyed the area and went to Schmalkalden, Saalfeld (grotten and grottoneum), Hohe Warten Stausee ("Little Norway"), Meiningen (walk the trail 'der Meiniger'), Grobe Inselberg, Mabkopf and Erfurt. The Mommelsteinweg to the waterfall in Trusetal is also very beuatiful. We had to drive a lot, because close to home there is not enough to enjoy yourself for a week. There is supermarket nearby (Norma, 5min drive, the one in Hohleborn is open till 20.00h), but not many restaurants. However you can cook by yourself, since the kitchen is well equiped. We had a wonderfull vacation and can recommend it to every active person who likes old cities as well as walking through nature.

Summary: This second floor apartment was spotlessly clean. The owners were very helpful, the bed was quite comfortable and it is a very cozy little place. The balcony was semi-private. The WC was on the first floor but that did not pose a problem. This is a wonderful area.
