Summary: De plaats van gite Entre Gaume et Ardenne is eigenlijk Saint Cecile dat - net als andere dorpjes in de regio - behoort bij het tien km verder gelegen Florenville waar je alle winkels en supermarkten vindt. In Saint Cecile is alleen een slager/traiteur en er staat een leuk kerkje. De gite is heel ruim, schoon en rustig gelegen. De woonruimte en de vier slaapkamers zijn voorzien van airco en de bedden zijn prima. Achter het terras met whirlpool loopt een beekje dat de grens vormt tussen de Ardennen en Gaume. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door Chantal met vruchtensap en taart en hebben er een prima week gehad met uitstapjes naar de dierentuin en het kasteel van Bouillon, het fort van Sedan (net over de Franse grens), de Grotten van Han en het Wild Life park met het archeologisch museum van Han. Florenville is best een leuke plaats alwaar je de toren van de monumentale kerk kunt beklimmen voor een fantastisch uitzicht. Aan Orval met de abdij en de brouwerij zijn we jammer genoeg niet toegekomen en zo zijn er meer bezienswaardigheden. Ook hebben we heerlijk gegeten in the middle of nowhere bij cafe-retaurant Le Chameleux naast de ruïnes van een Romeinse pleisterplaats. En natuurlijk kun je in de omgeving heerlijk wandelen en desgewenst fietsen op de beide fietsen die je mag gebruiken. Prettig is ook dat je in de regio bijna overal gratis kunt parkeren en een stuk goedkoper tankt. Kortom: voor een relaxte vakantie met veel recreatieve mogelijkheden is Entre Gaume & Ardenne een comfortabele uitvalsbasis. Een aanrader!

Summary: Zeer aangenaam ontvangst met cake en apperlsap. Zo konden we ons weekje weg goed inzetten. De bedden zijn allemaal mooi opgedekt. Keukenhanddoeken worden voorzien. Wat niet op de website vermeld was is dat ook de badhanddoeken en washandjes voorzien zijn. Op de website staat dat er een stapelbed is op het gelijksvloers. Deze kamer heeft echter een heel mooi dubbel bed met aansluitende badkamer en doorgang naar het terras. Dat was een aangename verrassing. Ook de 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers boven zijn proper en verzorgd. De keuken heeft alle voorzieningen die nodig zijn. Hoewel we voorzien waren zijn er gezelschapspelletjes en kleurtjes voor de kindjes aanwezig. De omgeving is zeer mooi en aangenaam om te gaan wandelen. We hebben een zeer leuk weekje weg gehad.

Summary: Zeer goed ontvangst. De eigenares was zelfs zo vriendelijk ons een dag op voorhand te bellen met de melding dat we vroeger konden inchecken. Ruime woning met zeer goede bedden (boxspring) en meer dan voldoende keukenmateriaal. Zeer gezellig terras met als extra de jacuzzi.

Summary: Een vriendelijke ontvangst door de eigenaresse. De accommodatie was geheel voorbereid; bedden opgemaakt, badlinnen beschikbaar, iets te drinken en snacks, zelfs de jacuzzi was al op temperatuur. Bovendien was alles spic en span schoon.

Summary: De accommodatie is werkelijk prachtig. Bij binnenkomst direct een mooie zitruimte met comfortabele banken en stoelen en zicht op de prachtige zelfgeschilderde schilderijen van de eigenaarresse. Alles werd uitgelegd over waar we wat konden vinden (in het Frans, maar met gebaren, wijzen en de smartphone kom je overal uit, en Chantal is heel geduldig! ) Ook stond er meteen al lekkers klaar. Het prachtige complex heeft ook een prachtige grote keuken. Deze heeft alles wat men kan wensen, zoals zelfs een vaatwasser, mixers en keukengerei in alle vormen en maten. Ook met kasten vol soorten borden en glazen. Wij hebben hier meerdere malen heerlijk gekookt, wel was de keramische kookplaat even wennen voor ons. Bijna elke kamer heeft zijn persoonlijke badkamer. De 3 badkamers zagen er spic en span uit met heerlijke douche en fijne handdoeken. 3 slaapkamers hebben naar wat het lijkt een splinternieuwe boxspring die zeer confortabel slaapt, 1 kamer heeft een wat ouder bed maar ook deze slaapt prima. De achtertuin heeft zelfs een jacuzzi zoals beschreven. Heerlijk om even te relaxen maar duurt wel wat lang om op te warmen, maar dit is echt een luxe probleem. De omgeving is heelrijk rustig, en we hebben ons aan niemand gestoord. Het is wel een paar minutjes rijden naar de dichtsbijzijnde supermarkt. Maar met zoveel ruimte kun je ruim inslaan. Ook mogen we de buurman niet vergeten die ons dikwijls tipte over evenementen in de buurt. De communicatie in het Frans was voor ons soms wat lastig maar we begrepen elkaar doormiddel van kaarten, flyers, en natuurlijk de smartphone. Doe hem vooral de groeten! Ruben
