THE UNIQUE STORY, AS TOLD BY THE HOMEOWNER
The owner is an atypical person in her personality, her tastes and her vision of the world. This is reflected in the choice of properties. She is a person fascinated by nature and well-being.
Taking advantage of her large garden, she started almost 20 years ago by setting up a cottage near her house. Thanks to a great opportunity, she was able to buy her first trailer, which she also set up on her land, but this time, on the opposite side of her house, towards the stream below. The fact that the caravans are located on the owner's property provides a very secure environment for the tenants, while remaining a very private, unoverlooked place, thanks to the many trees on the plot. Over time, she has grown from one trailer to seven. She uses some of them for her work and herself. The others are available for rent from mid-May to mid-September.
As the caravans are not optimised for long stays indoors, the owner prefers to focus on the good weather to not disappoint her tenants. The owner didn't instal Wi-Fi in the caravans to allow the tenants to recharge their batteries without giving in to the temptation of connectivity, so she has made books and board games available for the days the tenants cannot enjoy the outdoors because of the weather.
As the caravans are original, their walls are only 5 cm thick, which makes it easy to hear the sounds of nature while you are inside.
Through her colourful/busy decoration and the type of accommodation offered, the owner really wants to create an atmosphere and allow the tenants to have a "timeless" experience, back to their roots. She really wants to share and to show her tenants another way of life.

Summary: This property is truly a gem! I didn’t manage to go, but my family was very impressed with everything it had to offer. The surrounding area is amazing: full of wild lives, in the middle of forest, beautiful landscape and very tranquil. Each room is in different caravans. There’s a facility for outdoor BBQ (if you are lucky with the weather to use it). Only negative point is, you have to pay extra for the towels. The owner is very friendly. This property is really unique.

Summary: Mijn ervaring wordt vooral gekleurd door het slecht weer, jammer genoeg. Ondanks het weer: zeer mooie, idyllische, rustige locatie met een niet diep riviertje (ideaal met kleine kinderen) en voldoende privé. Het terrein is volledig omringd door groen. Zeer leuke aankleding met veel solarlampjes buiten (waarvan maar de helft ervan werkten) , theelichtjes, potjes en kannetjes . Door de vele tierlantijntjes binnen ook niet overal even netjes. Het originele doek over de centrale pagode werd vervangen door een sjofel, niet waterdichte overkapping. Tussen drie van de vier woonwagens lagen er stapstenen, wat zeker goed/nodig is bij regenweer. Er zijn buitenzitstoeltjes aanwezig, waarvan de fijne poten jammer genoeg wegzakten in de drassige grond. De verlichting in de woonwagen met keuken is onvoldoende (bij donker weer). Je staat in je eigen schaduw bij het afwassen en/of koken. Geen microgolfoven aanwezig en slechts 2 kookplaten. Weinig werkblad. Is een beetje behelpen soms... Wel een radio, klein verwarmingstoestel, koffiezet, warmwaterkoker en gourmetstel aanwezig. Bij de woonwagen waarin de keuken en badkamer zich bevinden is er een terras met tafel en stoelen. Aangezien we af te rekenen hadden met druilerig weer was het jammer dat hier geen overdekking voorzien was. Bij de ruimste slaapwoonwagen ligt de matras gewoon op de grond (geen lattenbodem aanwezig). Niet ideaal naar comfort toe. Er is een kampvuur en houtblokken voorzien. Er is ook een bbq aanwezig. Die is echter vastgemaakt en kan niet verplaatst worden (verdomde regen!). Het terrein bereik je via trappen, dus niet ideaal voor minder mobiele mensen. Op een hoger gelegen stuk is ook een trampoline en schommel aanwezig. Mijn conclusie: megafijne plek (bij droog of in het beste geval zonnig weer) voor mensen/gezin met kinderen die comfort niet op de eerste plaats zetten.

Summary: We werden hartelijk ontvangen in de stromende regen. De kinderen hadden ieder een eigen woonwagen, wat een geweldige luxe voor ze. Wij hadden 4 woonwagens en “een hele privé-camping’ voor onszelf. Een sprookjesachtig verblijf. Heerlijk vuurtje stoken, spelen in het riviertje, Geweldige buren links de geiten en schapen, rechts de twee koeien. Hier is alles om je geen moment te vervelen en optimaal tot rust te komen tegelijkertijd. Het knusse van kamperen midden in de natuur en eigenlijk zoveel luxe. Mooie balans tussen rust en gezelligheid. Helemaal top. En over de Ardennen zelf hoef ik natuurlijk niets te vertellen. De kinderen van 5 en 11 hebben zich elke dag vermaakt.

Summary: prachtig verblijf gehad, helemaal weg van de wereld zoals we het graag hebben. Midden in de natuur, maar met de auto snel bij alle mogelijke voorzieningen. Dankzij het mooie weer echt buiten geleefd met de kinderen. Net een sprookje! Een top vakantiebestemming voor wie niet bang is om 'back to basics' te gaan.
