This historic 1910 farmhouse is very well maintained with original beautiful hardwood floors, woodwork, built-ins and windows, situated on 4.5 acres less than 1.5 miles from downtown Marion and on the edge of Cedar Rapids. In town for a sporting event? The property is 10 minutes from Tuma Soccer Complex and Prospects Meadows. There are lots of trees and the privacy will make you forget you are still in the city. The Boyson Trail is accessible through the neighborhood across Boyson Rd.
The parlor with its antique décor will make you feel like you have been transported back to the early 20th century. When you are ready to return to the 21st century the den is decked out with comfy couches, a big screen TV and a real wood burning fireplace, high speed wireless Internet is available throughout the house.
Four spacious bedrooms one queen, two kings, and a room setup for the kids with a bunk bed (twin over full with a trundle twin). All bedrooms are on the second floor.
Full kitchen with everything you need to make a home cooked meal. Dishwasher, electric stove top, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, and coffee maker.
You have full access to the house. The third floor attic is open but unfurnished.
You are free to explore the 4.5 acre property during your stay. The drive is ‘L’ shaped with two entrances and plenty of parking. There is a large fenced in area, concrete pad with fire pit, original 1910 barn and renovated stable. The stable is a wide open 1000 sq ft space with a wood burning heater and LP heat. Contact the host if you would be interested in renting this space. The barn is currently under renovations and off limits to guests. If you would like a tour, contact the host and we will do our best to accommodate.

Summary: We were lucky enough to have an intimate family wedding here and everything was perfect. John and Kari are wonderfully accommodating hosts and the property could not have been more perfect. Located continently near anything you need but tucked away enough to feel like a real get away. The historic vibe and peace of Fairview Farm is just what we need wanted for our special day.

Summary: Came for a wedding celebration in Marion. The house is large and well equipped. Plenty of room for seven of us plus a dog. Felt together but also spread out. Two and a half bathrooms. Huge property to play ball, etc. Would highly recommend for a large group of family/friends!

Summary: We needed a place for a large family gathering after Thanksgiving Day dinner. This was perfect. We could spread out, have time to nap, room for the little ones to run around, fire place was perfect! Everyone had plenty of room. If the weather would have been warmer we could have enjoyed the day outside more but that’s November in Iowa😄

Summary: It’s a wonderful old farm house with lots of character and is very room with lots of private surrounding land. Perfect spot for us to visit family. We’ve stayed there multiple times and will be back again I’m sure.

Summary: Lots of space inside and outside. Quiet, relaxing nice front porch. Communication with host was awesome. We only used 1 bedroom but the king bed was very comfortable. Would stay again.

Summary: We were reunited with our foreign exchange student from 3 years ago! It was a very special time. The house worked out great for us. The location was good. And what was very helpful was all the extras that were provided. Tue kitchen was well stocked as was the laundry facilities! And the porch was fantastic! We would stay again!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old farmhouse. The house was exceptionally clean. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. There was lots of land to walk our dogs and the very large fenced in area for an off leash romp was a bonus. There were six adults in our party, and we had plenty of room to spread out. It was a great stay!
