This cottage is for two. There is an additional ground floor ensuite only you can rent, so please message me for prices if you want 2+2! * Seaview respite for couples in serious need of battery recharging. With a wonderful 6ft bed, ensuite, and amazing sea view from your bedroom. You have a 60 sq.m. pool, serious swimming, air conditioning, 4G WiFi, DVD and streaming TV. Relaxation is guaranteed in this self-contained haven. Nestling into the brow of a foothill of Sao Miguel, the eastern Algarve's highest peak, with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea (15 minutes distance), your cottage extends to private covered areas which include gas or charcoal barbecue and giant marble table. The views of the Atlantic and the mountains behind us are stunning, both from the cottage and around the swimming pool. You also have wonderful gardens and lawn, a top terrace around the fabulous pool and a welcome shady spot under the carob tree. This is a tranquil and ideal place to relax. The large mature gardens, with fig, lemon and orange trees and a lawn are yours to enjoy privately.
My welcome pack is legendary amongst my guests, I am a Cordon Bleu cook and it is all home made. On your arrival you will have wine, beer, chicken, hummus, chicken liver pate, mayonnaise, freshly squeezed orange juice, or what ever else I decide to make.

I am 6 km from seaside Fuseta, 15 km Olhao & Faro.
A car is necessary, although shops and restaurants are within 2 km of the property in Moncarapacho. The nearest beach is Fuseta and 6 km away. There is lots of fun to be had on the Ria Formosa, from Fuseta to Olhao to Tavira. Enquire with the owner about use of her car for a fee. You will need to find your way from the airport. Uber & local taxi's operate in the area.

Summary: Very private accomodation with no disturbance apart from the odd visit from a very friendly Bear (not that kind). Who can be kept away if you so wish. We would normally go to Lidl and stock up before we arrive at a property but Joan warned us to see what our welcome pack consisted of first. I'm glad we heeded her advice as it kept us going for a couple of days. I'll not go into details as I'm sure it changes with seasonal availability but I guarantee it won't be disappointing. The studio/cottage has all a cook needs in the kitchen and outside you have a choice of a charcoal or gas BBQ. One fridge outside and another inside gives enough room for fresh food and drink. Privacy is high on the agenda with Joan keeping out of the way unless you want to speak to her but she is very welcoming and attentive of any requests. The pool is close to the accommodation, up a few steps. It's adjoined to the main villa but very private and peaceful - no interruptions again. Joan apologised for the weather, so I'm holding her responsible for the sunshine on our next visit as we'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to a social drink with her because I know she's sitting on some excellent tales. Thanks Joan for being a wonderful host and look after yourself!

Summary: The cottage is in a fantastic location, only 30 mins from Faro airport and the charming towns of Loule, Olhoa, Fuseta and Tavira, set on high ground with uninterrupted views to the coast. We arrived to find the accommodation immaculately clean, and it included a very well equipped kitchen, 2 barbeques and a huge marble table on the terrace where we spent many relaxing evenings. The icing on the cake was the very generous welcome pack that Joan provided, which included a couple of delicious home cooked meals and enough other food and drink to keep us going for a number of days. The pool is excellent, located only a few steps up from the apartment, easily the largest we have enjoyed in a private hiring, with loads of sun loungers to choose from and amazing views towards the east Algarve coast. Joan is a charming host, very discreet but readily available if we required any advice about local places to visit. We had a couple of hugely enjoyable evenings in her company sharing a bottle of wine. True to Joan's word, we were the only guests and had the place to ourselves. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay. It was very relaxing and stress free, largely thanks to the huge effort Joan had put into making the cottage comfortable and well appointed. We like to travel to different places, but having enjoyed our time here so much we are already talking about when we can return to Casa Monte do Cerro for another stay. Thank you Joan for a wonderful holiday!

Summary: Wow what a place to spend a week! The cottage is delightful, views amazing day and night, huge pool in lovely gardens and patio area. Joan our host and Xana her friend are really lovely people. From before we arrived everything was sorted with full instructions on how to find the property. When we did arrive the welcome package was AMAZING!! Quite used to getting nothing on arrival, well we had a roast chicken, pork stroganoff, salad, water, wine, bread , eggs and ice plus a fab stock cupboard full of useful bits. In short, the place is excellent. Clean, quiet and simple. What more do you need…. Lovely local restaurants, supermarket 5 mins away, you do need a car. Shared G&T’s with Joan on a couple of evenings. What a lady, wish we had longer, we will be back.

Summary: beautiful cottage and a great swimming pool and lovely grounds.my first night my host joan had a lovely welcome pack so i did not have to go shopping dill the next day. the cottage had everything for cooking as i did a lot of cooking .what more could you ask for.i had nice drinks with my host joan and her two dogs sarah and Bear there are so nice.I had a wonderful time of peace and quite here and i will be back again soon all the best joan thanks

Summary: This is a lovely part of Portugal, very peaceful and with a very friendly atmosphere. Joan, the owner, is a fabulous hostess and does everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Her welcome pack is the best ever! A beautiful pool, wonderful views and minutes away from Moncarapacho a great little town with smashing restaurants. We are definitely returning.

Summary: A perfect hillside retreat where you can spend time relaxing in the beautiful garden and swimming in the generously sized pool. The Cottage has everything you need for your stay including WiFi and Multiple British TV Channels and Netflix. Our Host Joan Graham had prepared a delicious welcome pack including roast chicken, fresh bread, home made humous and pate.Also wine! So handy when arriving after your journey. The Cottage is close by car to the local towns with really nice restaurants.We certainly recommend Olhao, Moncarapacho and Fuzeta to eat out. This is our 14th time staying at the Cottage.We love it. We both had a peaceful relaxing break once again.

Summary: Wonderful location with stunning views. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It is so peaceful and calm the perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries. Not forgetting the glorious swimming pool we hardly ever got out of! And last but definately not least the inimitable Joan our Host and what a Host. Kind,helpful and so much fun. Her welcome pack is phenomenal and I cannot wait to go back. I so recommend this place its amazing!!

Summary: We returned again for what would be our 8th visit (maybe more!!). We absolutely love the location of this cottage. We love the relaxing feel it give as soon as we arrive. The cottage owner Joan is amazing, lovely, very friendly and accommodating despite this being a self catered cottage. As Joan lives on site, it can be easy to forgot this is "self catered". Joan leaves you plenty of provisions to start your holiday, We always buy more when we runs out, we wouldn't expect Joan to keep providing! The welcome hamper, which is above and beyond what we would normally receive in a self catered cottage. I'd go as far to say this is exceptional and very impressive. They is an honesty bar/fridge by the pool, you can help yourself to beer/coke/wine etc and leave the required payment or replace what you've used when you go to the shops. We hire a car as the town is about 1 mile away, however the local taxi company is very amenable. The town of Moncarapacho is about a 15/20 min walk away, passing beautiful scenery as you go. The cottage is equipped well, a gas & charcoal BBQ, private seating area, dishwasher and washing machine! I know right - Amazing! We had some friends come to stay and they stayed in the adjoining bedroom, no through walk way, so still private, but another room off to the left with an ensuite and small courtyard with tea & coffee and fridge etc. Great for parties of 4, you can share the outside space and kitchen. My understanding is it's only let exclusively to friends and not to people you don't know, so you have the run of the amazing "large" pool and surrounding terrace/garden space. Love love love this place, so much so we are returning in September, cannot wait. :o) Gary & Lisa Sanders Leicestershire

Summary: This was our second visit to Cassa D'Alegria, for a much needed relaxing holiday and once again we were not disappointed. The facilities provided, which includes privacy, extremely comfortable accommodation, a superb welcome pack, exclusive use of a large swimming pool, private terrace complete with panoramic sea views, delightful gardens and surroundings offer a peaceful and tranquil ambience and this is not to mention the most enjoyable company and hospitality of our host Joan, whom we shared some memorable times with. We enjoyed the locality particularly the many fine restaurants in Olhao, Moncarapacho, Fuseta and surrounding district. The accommodation enables you to choose how you want to spend your time, either quiet days/nights in and to BBQ, or to visit a local restaurant or to enjoy sociable evenings with Joan and friends, which we found most enjoyable. All in all, we found the entire experience to be thoroughly enjoyable and we have already booked for next year and with a possibility of returning sooner. We cannot praise this accommodation high enough!

Summary: This is our fourth visit in a row to this piece of paradise! From the moment you arrive you feel so relaxed, happy and at home. Joan really is the most wonderful host and one of the reasons we keep coming back. Her welcome packs are out of this world, homemade pate, avocado dip and hummus just to mention a few. As well as freshly squeezed orange juice, bread, milk and wine...all meaning you don’t have to leave for a few days or think about cooking. My Mum even said she would travel weekly from Hereford to receive such delicious treats! There are so many reasons why we come back - the setting, the gardens, the big pool, the dogs and of course sharing drinks and giggles on the terrace with Joan. There is everything and more that you need here, we enjoyed bbqs the evenings we stayed in, listening to music and sitting on the spacious terrace. We can’t praise Joan highly enough, it really is paradise. See you next year xxx
