2 Bedroom House in San Marcos

Private 1200 sq ft 2 bed, 2 bath bottom floor of an amazing 2 story villa, secluded on 1 acre of land in the hills of San Marcos in North San Diego County. Amazing views with a private lit and heated patio, 2 bedrooms, 2 renovated bathrooms, whirpool tub, kitchenette with full sized fridge, dishwasher, sink, range-hood oven and stove top, appliances, and laundry room with new washer and dryer. Pool access available to renters, included at no additional charge! Pool is heated by solar, best between April - November. Spa can be heated year round with ipad controls. We ask for $40/day for spa heating charges. Location is 1/4 mile from a vineyard, with easy access to major San Diego highways and coastal regions. Approx 20 minute drive to Carlsbad beaches. Approx 40 minutes from SD airport. Approx 40 minutes to Orange County. Approx 25 minutes to Temecula. Hosts (married couple with young child) live upstairs in completely separate unit. No shared living spaces.
UPDATE: We are planning on doing construction on a portion of the land on a terrace below the home in spring 2025. This should not affect any of the interior or exterior amenities of the property, or the views. However, there could be construction personnel and normal construction noise during the day times on these dates. Please reach out for more questions before booking if this is a concern. The area of construction would be about 100ft away from any interior part of the unit, so it would be like your neighbor doing construction.
We will be starting to rent this new guest home likely starting around July 2025. It has its own separate driveway and interior and exterior spaces and completely detached from the main house (this listing). the only shared amenity will be the pool between the two rentals

Summary: The property is well equipped and welcoming atmosphere from the very beginning of our stay. We loved a private patio and SPA with great view. There are many things to do around the place within 30min by car, San Diego Safari Park, Oceanside beach, Carlsbad Premium Outlet and a lot of breweries. You may feel a kitchen and table are king of small, however we were enjoying our dinner with full size table of the patio with BBQ grill. Additionally, the owner, Brad was supportive and very kind. We truly enjoyed our 6 nights stay here!

Summary: This is a truly unique property! We like to stay in unique properties when we travel, and this house has it all. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, we loved everything from the welcome basket to the beautiful, outdoor patio, pool and spa area. The kitchen was well stocked, the sheets were comfortable, and there’s nothing like sipping your morning coffee while enjoying a breathtaking view. Every little detail was by design. You can tell that the host really care about their property and the guest experience. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back!

Summary: The rental is surely unique, an ultra-slim, wraparound space carved out of the downstairs portion of the owners' hillside home. They've done a masterful job, though, with many upscale touches, like a massive rainshower in the master bath and a lovely outdoor alcove that's solely the space of guests. If I had to quibble, I'd wish they had a full-size table for dining indoors and had figured out how to have more space in the tiny kitchen. Also, the amount of technology feels a bit excessive, though the owners proudly demonstrated how everything worked. Motion-activation was perhaps the pet peeve, with both the master bath sinks and the trashcan in the kitchen operating that way. I'm not a fan, but others may be. Overall, this is definitely a 5-star rental, and one that we'd certainly seek out on future visits.

Summary: This is one of the nicest properties we've stayed at in Southern California. Everything is really clean and EVERYTHING you need is there and ready for you. It's nice to wake up and go out and sit by the pool with your morning coffee. Situated on the side of a mountain, the views are breathtaking. The pictures don't really do it justice as it is phenomenal! You're minutes from multiple golf courses, access to the beach and many other things to do in the area. Brad and Alice are great to work with and very accommodating. I whole heartedly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Thanks Brad & Allice for an awesome time!
