Negative: (a) On arrival we couldn't actually find the property as it is a semi detached and we didn't realise the front door was behind the other house. A sign would be beneficial, especially if you arrive in the dark (which we did) (b) Poo bags would be beneficial due to the 2 dogs next door pooing on the grass - not a problem for us as we have a dog, but I just thought I would mention it as it wasn't nice picking up the poo with toilet roll!! Please in NO WAY think this is a negative, it is just that I have had a holiday home in the past and I always encouraged my guests to let me know of the little things that I may have not thought of. One of theirs was the use of a bucket and spade as the holiday home was 50 yards from Weymouth Beach and they arrived when the shops were closed and the kids wanted to go straight onto the beach - there are numerous shops, literally 20 yards from the house, so I didn't think of supplying a bucket and spade but obviously this was a nice touch for future guests.

Summary: Absolutely magical - we loved the setting and the house was perfect. Thank you

Negative: Not that clean , very sparse condiments left , only 2 toilet rolls and no bin liners for example . Games room non existent and garden certainly not enclosed so dogs cannot run free .

Positive: Really nice property, very good facilities, games room for the children and a nice rural location, plenty of room and nice open fire in living room

Negative: The property was very good and matched our expectations although it was a relatively late booking for the bank holiday and when we arrived over 2 hours from home, I was told it had been cancelled, then it was reinstated, then I was called by Sykes Cottages to say it had been cancelled again, which I challenged and it was reinstated again. The owner apologised for contacting me but no apology from the booking agent Sykes for messing with our holiday which was disappointing and pretty stressful when we were already there.

Positive: Location, outdoor space nice.

Negative: Smell of the boiler, we had seen in the reviews about the smell of fuel from it, there was a carbon monoxide monitor there so weren’t concerned from a safety point of view. However the smell was unpleasent and we don’t think we could have spent more than the 2 nights we did, even with the windows open the smell prevailed. Not much toilet roll, bit of signposting to the cottage from the farmyard would have been helpful. Showers not great, downstairs weak flow and upstairs, intermittant hot water.

Summary: Okay, smell spoilt it, would return but only if the boiler smell is resolved.

Positive: It was located on a lovely farm, it was spacious and had facilities in the form of a games room. Overall it was comfortable

Negative: We had an issue with loo roll x2 in total on the property (1 per bathroom) between six adults over 2 days. We did raise the question when realising we had run out and were informed that given it is self catering it was our responsibility to buy further loo roll which we were informed would be located a 5 mile drive from where we were staying. We were disappointed that a better solution could not have been found or more toilet rolls stocked as we had been unaware this was a responsibility we needed to be aware of as we have never experienced this issue elsewhere
