Positive: Hickory The location is phenomenal—minutes from Chimney Rock State Park. It’s close to a few restaurants as well. Our room was recently renovated, clean, and spacious. The small kitchenette was very useful to make breakfast. (There is a small lounge where muffins and coffee are available at the inn in the morning, as well as filtered water to fill up water bottles.) We loved the Keurig coffee machine in the room, as well as the fridge with freezer and the microwave. It’s a “smart” hotel so we got the code to open our room via text message and we could communicate with them the same way during the entire stay, as there is no front desk with personnel.

Negative: There was a mix-up with our booking, though, as we got a different room that had no kitchenette. After some text messages we were able to sort that out. The inn is by the road so inevitably there’s some car noise coming in. The bed was too soft for out liking. There was also a lamp constantly turned on right in front of our room, so even with the “blackout” curtains used it wasn’t dark enough for the night. Showering was also a bit tricky as there was no wall holder for soap/shampoo and the shower curtain was pretty short so we had to pay attention not to flood the bathroom. Overall for the price I would definitely recommend it and would go back any time. This inn is the perfect choice for those wanting to explore the area without spending and arm and leg.

Positive: Need cups in rooms,It was nice and clean,nice bathroom, beds were comfortable.a trash can in bed area

Negative: The check in was a nightmare. We had so much trouble trying to get a code for our room.They finally sent some to the motel to get us registered. Even he had to spend a great amount of time getting us registered. I would not stay there again,we lost half of our time trying to get registered.

Positive: Beautiful Inn. Rooms were small but cozy. Clean, good shower, comfortable bed. Easy check in and out. Met Terry the manager and he was very nice.

Negative: One suggestion is add an outlet for hair styling tools in bathroom.

Negative: Rooms were very small, especially bathrooms. Floors remained wet, due to condensation/humidity. It is a short walk to the village, but there are no footpaths and not ideal if raining. The carpark outside the units is soft unpacked gravel/stones. We arrived on motorcycles and one of the bikes slid out on the loose surface ... beware if arriving on two wheels! We also had trouble with communication via booking agent. Double check codes, we were given the wrong codes prior to arrival.
