Positive: It was so lovely to stay in this 200 year old property. It was very conveniently located, in that it was easy to access the R44 and was close to Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was also very comfortable.
Negative: I had initially thought that I had booked a room with a kitchenette but only later realised that there was only a shared kitchen. This didn't end up being a big problem but it wasn't quite what I had expected. I also initially believed that the on-site restaurant closed at 15h00 but found out on arrival that it actually only closes at 18h00, which was much more convenient. We were also told on arrival that a braai could be organised in the courtyard which would have been nice to know before we arrived but at least we know that this is an option for next time.
Summary: My daughter and I had a lovely weekend at Heins Manor and I would definitely recommend it to friends

Positive: My room was very spacious and comfortable with everything I needed. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and friendly. When the bedside lamp stopped working, the host came to replace it immediately.
Negative: The pool was a raised plastic rectangle cladded in wooden planks. It was tiny and shallow - had to get on my knees to submerge myself. I feel that the 'swimming pool' listing on the website was slightly misleading - should have been called a plunge pool. The venue is not only a wine farm, but also a pig farm. The odour from the pig enclosures was very strong on hot, windless days.
