Positive: The building and surrounding environment were very luxuriou

Negative: The bed, chair, and trash bin were old, worn, and damaged. The cleanliness was only average. The massage therapist at the Marriott hotel had her hair loose, and it touched my face during the massage. She also breathed onto my face. The body massage was incomplete, and when I pointed it out, she made remarks, sounds, and gestures implying “fat” while massaging my stomach. Compared to the massage given to another customer, hers was unprofessional and done very poorly.

Summary: Luxurious surroundings, but the furniture was outdated and in poor condition.

Negative: My room did not have a complimentary welcome basket of fruit. The next morning, I saw a worker with a cart loaded with fruit baskets in my hallway. I should have just taken one but instead I motioned to my room door. He nodded in seeming understanding. I then returned to my room and waited but the fruit never came. I called to the reception desk. Despite being transferred numerous times, no English speaker could be found. Hours later when I checked out, I was not asked the standard “how was your stay?” Nevertheless, I added my reflection of sadness on not being able to get the fruit basket that came so close to my door but not inside. The attendant told me it was okay. It’s not okay, I told her, to which she feigned great sadness, adding, “I’m so sorry.” A simple piece of fruit would have been worth a thousand apologies. Staff here needs to be trained on effective problem solving and intervention strategies.
