Positive: It was a beautifully kept entire apartment Japanese style with a private balcony. I loved the space and the kind hosts who were very attentive. The location was very central in the village.
Negative: Nothing. You have to go out of the main apartment door to the bathroom but everything is still private so it was no problem
Summary: Really peaceful and calm. A great base for exploring I loved it.

Positive: First a fantastic location, the Nakasendo trail passes right in front of the house. The hosts, Yugi and Gihu are wonderful, kind and sweet people. We had 2 incredible home cooked meals, prepared by Yugi the masterchef. (You have to book food in advance). The best food we have tasted in Japan and beyond. Also the traditional Japanese breakfast, prepared by Gihu was great. The traditional house was spacious, had all comfort and amenities and above all: excellent tatami beds. We've loved it and the kids loved it. Our best experience in Japan so far.
Negative: nothing
Summary: fantastic, the best

Positive: The location is beautiful, so make sure you have enough phone memory or photographic film. The host, Kenta, was super cool, if he offers a meal definitely take him up on it. We got lucky and were able to try bear meat since he had caught one in the mountains before we arrived!! Lastly, the property was very spacious and comfortable but still fit the traditional atmosphere of the town. The room we slept in had tatami flooring and a sliding wall closet, that paired with the quiet and traditional atmosphere of the town reminded me of some older anime I watched, which was really cool. Specifically, the water wheels made me think of Hinamizawa from the series 'Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni'. The town is very safe though, unlike the anime.
Negative: There wasn't anything to dislike, but some might be disappointed about the lack of nighttime activities. That being said, this is located in a scenic town out in the mountains so temper your expectations.
Summary: Beautiful Photography Frenzy!! [feat.Bears]
