Positive: it's home-like style, sweet, really reasonable price. u can find anything u need for cooking, also snacks for travellers who miss the local shops. And snacks and laundry are not priced, just politely put a donation jar there

Negative: Room 101 has some smell, idk, kinda like smell of paint or decoration, which really affacts me sleeping...

Positive: A quiet and clean place to stay if you haven’t quite made it to the end of the pilgrimage walk, or you want to do a short walk and stay away from the main crowds in Hongu Taisha. The road stop nearby has a mini supermarket with everything you will need that closes at 6:30, if you’re a bit later the hostel has some instant noodles you can buy by donation.

Positive: Excellent host and excellent food. Really nice atmosphere and a great place to stay. Lovely packed lunch for the following hiking day.

Negative: My room was next to the kitchen so every time other guests were in the kitchen I could hear them. That was the only downside.

Positive: Last minute booking kumano kodo stays I was worried about the distance but it was easy to get to with Japan's exceptional mass transit. A very well stocked grocery store 2 minute walk, which is the bus stop. We'll stocked kitchen. Family great! I need a long hike break & asked for a waterfall to hike to. The owner showed me on map AND dropped me off nearby! Also you can do laundry in house.

Negative: It was all great!

Positive: Great view of the mountains. You have your own private sink that's inside your room. All the facilities are well situated to accommodate multiple people at a time.

Negative: I wish there was hand soap in the bath area but there are plenty of options for hand santiziation around the guest house. There's one right when you walk in as well.

Positive: Very cozy spot on the river bank. Ease of access to kumano kodo trail. We did the Hongu loop trail leaving from here, hiking to Hongu-taisha, then bus to Yunomine Onsen, and then hike the rest of the loop from there. Awesome experience!
