Ten minutes’ walk from Edale Station you reach Grindsbrook Barns up a small track, surrounded on three sides by open countryside. The two barns are easily accessible yet feel truly remote.
The picturesque village of Edale is at one end of the Pennine Way, it is a walkers’ paradise and also a thriving rural community with two pubs, a post office and a café.
There are two barns – one large and one small. Both have been lovingly restored to a high standard, and between them sleep four people (six using the sofa bed). The barns have a large garden with parking space for two to three cars. There is a picnic and barbecue area next to the main barn.

Ground Floor comprises a double height sitting room with wood burning stove, a kitchen and a shower/wc. The first floor contains a double bedroom with basin and rolltop bath.

Summary: It's great accommodation in a stunning location. The mark of a good host is how they respond when things don't go right. We had a problem at the start of our holiday - Alex and Mike dealt with it speedily and with kindness.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in the barns. My daughter and her husband were in the main barn; I was in the baby barn. The main barn has a really well-equipped kitchen and a lofty living room. Everything has been built well and thought about carefully. The overall effect is that you’re somewhere very cared about and welcoming - and somewhere that works. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook and eat in. We had stunning weather so walked every day. We loved the prints and books in the main barn, cooking on the range and the slate around the kitchen sink makes washing up a pleasure. The baby barn has a lovely comfy bed, a beautiful shower and top notch cotton bed linen. We arrived by train and explored on train and foot. The small shop had everything we needed for cooking simple meals at home and of course we ate in the pubs too. Sitting with a cup of tea at start or end of day next to the sheep is lovely. These are beautiful barns in a magnificent spot and we hope to stay again.

Summary: We loved it here. Comfy beds and cozy living room in a fabulous location. There needs to be some serious dust management, though (not of surfaces but of the ceiling, rafters, in the kitchen behind wooden spoons, spice rack, etc. I think more attention needs to be paid to the access and difficulties for folks with mobility issues. It was fine for us, but we were having my husband's sister come to stay and knew she would be unable to manage without a level footpath so had to cancel her visit. The bathroom in the main house is crude at best, but there's a lovely tub & sink in the upper bedroom. There is excellent, reliable internet and the landline was much appreciated. Bottom line: We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have mobility issues, but I do think some issues need to be addressed. We would happily come again.

Summary: The Barns are a winning combination: cozy, thoughtfully appointed living spaces (good books, quality linens, lovely kitchen) in a sweet pastoral setting with remarkable access to wild lands. We cherished the quiet, but felt so lucky to be able to pop into the Edale general store for good produce, too. Alex's communication was excellent. A truly extraordinary stay.

Summary: This property stands in its own fields away from the road and yet is within a few minutes walking distance of the centre of Edale village . We would have appreciated a few more newer mugs and bowls for our self catering , however the kitchen knives were excellent !

Summary: We enjoyed our stay very much.a two suggestions- emphasize that the big and and little barns are separate structures. Emphasize that bathrooms are on a different level to bedrooms and that the stairs separating them are steep. Don and son Chris
