Positive: The staff were lovely and it was very quiet but easy access to motorway. Could hear cars but didn't bother me and window was open. There was a lot of dust on 1 bedside table and a clump of hair on a pillow that wasn't great. Not a fan of towels being placed on the runner on bed that is likely to not get cleaned. And cushions on pillows that will have been on the floor. But generally other than that nice and clean in bathroom and good size shower. Breakfast was OK.

Negative: I understand cushions add to decor but they are non likely clean and are then placed on pillows. Same as towels on runner. Just double check for dust and clumps of hair especially in and around the bed.

Positive: Bed comfortable. Clean, tidy room. Called down to reception as no TV remote in room. Arrived in couple of mins, impressed. Easy to find from motorway.

Negative: Bit of a hike to bedroom up stairs. We are 78 and 80 years old. No offer of help with bags. Lift being serviced on morning we left. Even more stairs to negotiate. Breakfast. We arrived at 9.35. No clean cups. Scavenging cutlery from other tables. No scrambled eggs left in dish. Not much of anything. Felt we were a nuisance. Shame because Dinner service the night before very friendly.

Positive: Location, facilities. Everything catered for. Stone throw away from Blacksmiths wedding house/ tourist attraction. Great little museum and shop. Lovely grounds to walk around. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure no cross contamination for coeliac … had vip service … thank you. Food excellent both at breakfast and dinner.

Positive: The breakfast was very nice and a lovely choice of foods.

Negative: The room was lovely but very small and very hard to get round the bed. The hotel wasn’t organised enough for all the weddings being held there. When we came back as a group of 20 there where no seats available and no where to sit

Summary: Apart from these things it was a lovely location and a lovely hotel
