Positive: Lovely situation, beautiful views, really helpful staff on site. Everyone was delightful, and helped making arrangements. Elephant experience personal and magical.

Positive: The ethical elephant tour offered was truly unforgettable—one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The rooms were mosquito-free, but mosquito nets were provided for added peace of mind. The bathroom was spacious and featured a warm shower, while the stunning mountain view added to the charm. I spent a blissful afternoon reading and relaxing in a bamboo hammock, overlooking the mountains and nearby Khmer-style wooden houses—a perfect moment of tranquility. Breakfast, included in the room price, was of good quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.

Negative: The walls between the single rooms are extremely thin, making it impossible to avoid hearing everything from your neighbors—whether it’s watching TV, showering, using the bathroom, or talking. Better noise insulation is urgently needed. Additionally, I was provided with only one small towel for a 3-day stay and had to request another one specifically. One morning, the owner began playing loud music at 6:30 AM, waking me up and making it impossible to go back to sleep. When I asked him to stop, he explained that the music was for a group having breakfast. Despite my explanation that the noise was disturbing my rest, he refused to turn it off. Prioritizing the enjoyment of one group over the comfort and well-being of other guests is highly inconsiderate.

Positive: I stayed in one of the brand new bungalows with a balcony and view out over the jungle. The location is a few minutes in a tuktuk (over a VERY bumpy dirt track) from Sen Monorom, so it’s not convenient to get into town but it is very quiet (but for the crickets), and the gardens and views are lovely. I was concerned about bugs with staying in a wooden bungalow near a forest, and there was the odd little ant or earwig, but the air conditioning was powerful and the mosquito net was pristine - I was happy. The bed was large and comfortable enough (although quite firm). The wet room was clean. The water-heater for the shower wasn’t powerful enough to heat the water at full pressure, and I thought there was no hot water to begin with, but you can achieve a wonderfully warm shower if you turn the pressure down. There was a kettle to make tea and a fridge, and even a fluffy white dressing gown! I ate breakfast and dinner at the property every night in their open bungalow style restaurant with views over the jungle. It was very quiet with just me there most nights. The food was simple but so fresh and clearly prepared right then just for me - like I had a personal chef! It was really exceptional quality and so tasty. Sam, the manager, was so helpful. His English made it very easy to talk to him for advice. He was able to organise tuktuks into town for me easily. On the night I arrived, I was looking for something to do the following day and I suggested a visit to one of the indigenous villages. Sam kindly put me in touch with his friend Heng, who is an indigenous person and activist for their land rights in the area. She showed me her village and took me to her home, and we made lunch together with fruits and vegetables from her garden. I learned so much from her and it was a truly amazing (life changing?) day, all thanks to Sam! I cannot rate him and his resort highly enough :)
