Positive: We were really looking forward to this review! I have never written something so positive before. But it wasn't just the accommodation, the whole family and David took amazing care of us in all other things. They arranged not only complete accommodation with full board, but also a Safari, lots of trips and other things that we couldn't do without them. Before we arrived, David communicated wonderfully, he answered everything quickly. He also arranged a taxi for us from Emali to Loitoktok directly to them. We felt like part of the family throughout our stay, at a leisurely pace. Love is born through food and here it is doubly true. How could we not love them when they cooked so well 🙂! They inspired me so much for my kitchen. We didn't lack for anything. Peter's amazing breakfasts were a great way to start the day. Dinners and lunches were lovely in that we had a lovely intellectual chat with them and learned a lot about Kenya and learned Swahili. Bottled water was available all the time. The rooms were clean, cozy and quiet. The bathroom was also adequate and right next to the rooms. I would like to thank the whole family very much for allowing my sixty-year-old mother to fulfill her lifelong dream and for taking such good care of us. I hope this is not the last time we've seen each other. We'll be happy to come back! Asante sana!

Positive: Very friendly house owner. Breakfast and lunch are good and plenty for the game drive. David brought us to the border area to take good pictures and explore the local markets. He also managed the game drive for us. Peter showed us his lovely garden. Dinners are the highlight and it was the best 2 dinners I have had during the whole trip in Kenya, beyond expectation. You could take the picture with Kilimanjaro right at the homestay. Good little cat named "Rozy". Feel like home. Very impressed that the hot water is still available in the bathroom.

Negative: The room is kind of small for 3 people. Not enough space for placing your belongings. It's the shared bathroom but acceptable as it's the homestay. Suggest providing a bit more restroom amenities, i.e. shower gel, shampoo, cotton buds.

Summary: Warm welcome from the household. Great dinner, must try. David is very helpful.

Positive: Such a lovely house with the most beautiful garden and view of Kilimanjaro. David was super helpful, both before we got there and while we were staying. He helped us organize transport to/from Emali SGR, he booked our safari in Amboseli, and went with us on a motorbike trip to the Tanzania border. We had great Kenyan food and really enjoyed our time with the family. I can definitely recommend this homestay!

Negative: I liked everything. Of course, if you don’t enjoy staying with others, this might not be the right place for you - but for my kids and I, this is a stay we’ll always remember.

Positive: David and his family are very warm and welcoming. You will see Kilimanjaro right in front of the homestay. The food prepared at home is excellent especially the Chicken with Ugali. Would highly recommend the walk to border to Tanzania.

Positive: We had an amazing stay with an amazing Kenyan family. The women of the household are loving and caring, David is truly inspiring, and his dad is an absolute legend. The cottage is nestled in a serene, beautiful garden with a perfect view of the mountain, also perfectly located for a safari to Amboseli. There are also plenty of activities to engage in which will make a difference to the lives of the locals. Would have stayed longer if there was availability

Negative: We didn’t obviously expect a 5-star accommodation, and we wanted our kids to experience the simple, good life. Nevertheless we found the facilities to be fit for purpose, and considering the price, location, and overall experience, I would still give this place a 10/10.

Positive: David and his family (parents, wife and children) are so so sweet. The moment you enter, you feel like you belong to the family. It's a real homestay experience, and nice it has a good toilet and shower. David and his father showed me around. With David I went to the market together, took our bikes to the border and his wife makes amazing tasty Kenyan food that is included in the price! The room you sleep in is comfortable, and they will do anything to make you feel home and happy. When I am around, this is going to be my place to go for sure.

Positive: David and the fam made me feel so welcome and at home and we did so many awesome things together! Went to the beautiful gorge, a rooftopbar with view on Kili, masai Deco women, soccer with the kids and a hike around to the border where we had Tanzanian beer. David helped me with a new sim , a safari to amboseli which is close by and so so beautiful, i couldn't be happier. Also I felt free enough to do my own thing in and around the house, even stayed in bed when i was ill for half a day. From the garden you can see Kili, depending on the weather and David's dad, Peter, gave me a tour around the garden to show all the veggies and fruits they grow themselves. Learnt a lot about Kenyan culture and ate the best food, they made everything special for me as I'm a vegetarian and allergic to onion and garlic. Also explained how to make it and showed me when I wanted. Thank you so so much!!

Negative: Facilities are basic, but I expected that, it's a homestay and super worth it. The bed is older, but good enough and the bathroom is quite western still. There was no WiFi, but Im sure if I didn't have my SIM and had asked about it, David would've arranged something, as he did with everything else as well.
