Welcome to Woodland Retreat. We hope you will enjoy our beautiful mountain getaway as much as we do! Come enjoy the views and beautiful sunsets off the back deck!
This luxury mountain cabin is the peak mountain experience, a nicely finished, upscale mountain cabin featuring five (5) sleeping rooms each with an ensuite bath and two (2) half baths. This home has a chef's kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a wine cooler, and an ice maker. Enjoy three separate living areas for large groups to stretch out.
There are views from the kitchen, dining area, and the great room, along with a view from the master king bedroom on the main floor.
The kitchen, dining room, great room and master bedroom are on the main level. The main deck with a hot tub, fire table and plenty of seating are also on the main level. The master bath has a soaking tub, shower and two sinks.
The upstairs has a game room with a pool table and television, and two bedrooms with ensuite baths and televisions.
The downstairs has a theater room, bunk room, and queen bedroom, all with private bathrooms. The theater room boasts an 80-inch TV with surround sound and black out shades, while the queen room has its own television. The bunk room has full-over-full bunks beds and twin-over-twin bunk beds.
The hot tub is on the main level deck area, where you can enjoy covered deck seating and the Blue Ridge Mountain vista. All bedrooms except the bunk room have smart TVs and bedside clocks with USB charge ports.

In addition to the size of this house, some of the things that set Woodland Retreat apart are parking and driveability. We have parking in the garage for 2, and parking in the driveway for 5. We also have an EV charger. Some houses in Beech Mountain have very steep gravel driveways or a few small parking spots on the edge of the road. Our driveway is relatively flat, paved, and plenty of parking.
Beech Mountain is a year round escape. For winter recreation, we are less than 2 miles from the ski resort, which offers skiing, tubing and great entertainment. In the summer, enjoy the cool mountain air. Beech Mountain has one of the coolest summer climates on the East Coast. Enjoy hiking, rafting, mountain biking, or just relaxing without working up a sweat. Woodland Retreat also has central AC if you get hot.

Must be at least 25 years old to book. We have a firm no smoking and no party policy.
We also have a firm no pet policy. If you bring a pet to the house, we will charge a $500 extra cleaning fee and you will be asked to leave the property immediately.
Guests are required to pay for dry cleaning or replacement for any stained/ruined linens. Please separate any stained linens so a thorough wash can be done.
Any moving of furniture will result in $100 fee. It is okay to move lamps and such out of children's reach, but please put back before checkout.

Summary: Our daughter got married at Overlook Barn and this house was amazing! So much room and quality furnishings especially the beds! We could not have been happier with our stay! Just wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy more!! Hosts were amazing and no issues at all. Would definitely stay here again!

Summary: We rented the house so the family could stay together for a few days prior to and after our son's wedding (10 adults and an infant). The house was super clean and was set up great! The multi-room sound system was great! Ensuites for everyone was awesome. TV's in all the bedrooms , living room, game room and downstairs media room! There were helpful labels in all the right places i.e. lighting, kitchen. The view is absolutely stunning. The host was helpful and responsive. Thank you for making a special week very enjoyable. I highly recommend this house!

Summary: We have stayed in quite a few cabins in NC and this was by far the nicest. Cabin is beautiful and spacious. My kids loved the hot tub, pool table and media room. Katie was a great host, who made the stay very easy. Would definitely come back!

Summary: We had a such a wonderful time at this property. The place was beautiful and so well maintained. It had everything you could possibly need. The view was incredible. It was such a nice place to get away with family. There was enough room for everyone and we even brought a few infants and there was so much space in the bedrooms to place their beds as well. We went to nearby trails right off the road and we didn’t even need to drive anywhere to get there! There was also a nearby recreational center that we really enjoyed. The host was super communicative and super kind. This place was definitely a 10/10 and would totally come here again in the future.

Summary: We are three couples who have rented a place in the Carolinas every year for the past 10 years. Katie’s place was by far the best we have ever stayed in. The place was immaculately clean. The kitchen was incredibly well supplied. Katie responded immediately to our questions and concerns. We happened to be in the house when Hurricane Helene hit the area. Although the power was out all over the mountain, our hosts had installed a whole-house generator that kept the lights on, the stove working, hot water flowing and AC operating. We had to stay three additional days until the roads off the mountain were passable, but we were perfectly comfortable for the entire time. Katie checked in regularly to make sure we were OK, which made the situation much less anxious than it might have been if we had felt we were entirely on our own. We loved Katie's place and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in a gorgeous mountain retreat that is better positioned, maintained and appointed than any we have ever experienced before.

Summary: Hosts were super responsive and helpful on things; house was exactly as expected; having a dedicated bathroom to each bedroom was clutch; garage is a really nice feature with an extra fridge and place to unload car or for kids to play on a rainy day; we didn’t use the TVs but seemed really well equipped with tech including Sonos speakers; roads on any mountain are steep, but this driveway is very reasonable and easy to get up - and really nice it is right off the main road so you don’t have to deal with gravel side roads; nice that they had beach towels in addition to bathroom towels; highly recommend and hope we can come back!

Summary: We wanted a quiet long weekend in the mountains away from daily life stress, and this was absolutely the perfect place! Breathtaking views from the hottub, walking to fishing spots, big meals from the ample kitchen and gas grill, and the game room and movie room were over the top! Katie and Darryl were incredibly attentive hosts the one time we needed to reached out during our stay, and otherwise left us to enjoy our time. There seemed to be lots of activities and attractions nearby, but we also got to feel like we were the only ones on the mountain which is what we were looking for. Plenty of parking, all the rooms were spacious, and with three large and unique common areas we could each be as together or alone as we wanted. This place was luxurious and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Summary: This home had plenty of room for our large family with seven children ranging from one to nine. We loved all the king beds and bathrooms in each bedroom. The bunk room was great for the kids and all their stuff. Katie was always there when I had a question or when we needed help with the hot tub or grill. The maintenance staff that came over to fix things were very nice and got the job done quickly. If I had to make a suggestion, I would recommend getting more silverware for large groups because we ran out at every meal. I would also recommend getting plates, bowls and coffee cups that don't get too hot when warmed in the microwave. They read on the bottom that they were microwave and dishwasher safe but they were extremely hot when getting them out of the microwave after warming up more that one minute. Thank you for being so great to communicate with and sharing your nice home at Beech Mountain. We appreciate it and would stay here again.
