Positive: LOVE staff, especially Connie! She is warm, charming, and when I call to be sure our reservation went through as requested (especially now that new owners have made changes) she knows us and what we want and makes suggestions for changes if we are doing something different than our normal stay. We've been coming for about 7 years because it is so close to our daughter and her family. Cleaning staff is very good, they also are wonderful in helping more supplies when needed (ie: washcloths, kleenex, etc.). We look forward to the makeover changes and will continue with Grain Valley Inn being our go-to Inn if things don't change too much.

Negative: New owner is making necessary updates to the Inn. However, our room had several "fixes" in the room. Walls had been painted and it wasn't done well. When you paint with a roller and find when you are done that coverage wasn't completely clean, you go over the areas not covered. But the second fill-in was sloppy, Also, lots of floor baseboard areas had caulking "fixes" that were sloppy. Only had 2 rolling carts for getting luggage from vehicles to rooms, not enough. I'm 72 and because my husband has Parkinson's and can't carry much, I carried all luggage and bags from 2nd floor to car, 4 trips. When finished, still no carts back inside the front doors. Pool heater wasn't working, so pool water was COLD. Last, need signs on soda machine showing cost of products.

Summary: We love staff, hope improvements bring it up to surrounding Inns.

Negative: Check in was at 3pm, we arrived at 3:30pm. The lady gave us our room key but said it’s not ready yet because the previous people hadn’t checked out of our room yet- come back in 45 min. We came back at 4:30 and the room was still not ready. She said give her 20 more min. We waited in the lobby, then the car; I came back in and walked past the room. There was one lady cleaning it and the front desk lady was just standing in there talking to the cleaning lady. I stood outside the room just waiting for them to get done, because we had somewhere to be. We were finally able to get in the room a little after 5:30pm.

Summary: Worked for our overnight trip, but will not be returning.

Positive: Breakfast was okay. Everything was ok.

Negative: The place is a little old. Remodeling might be nice.

Summary: We won’t stay at Comfort Inns anymore. Comfortable Suites is a little better.

Positive: Connie is the best concierge, Mike is wonderful at fixing problems and the women who clean the rooms are exceptional. Did not expect the room issue from what we requested as a King Suite when we checked in was only a king room, Connie fixed the problem! Will watch the bookings as the inn is switched to the Hilton group. The upcoming accommodations being made online are not what are being accepted when check-in is being made. This may be what the new check-in system and the older one aren't talking to each other but it is exasperating when guests check-in.

Negative: Our room was dusty due to the construction downstairs. Also, HATED the window being covered with plastic as the painting was being done on the outside. Could not see the real outside view. I am claustrophobic and became very uncomfortable when I couldn't get a clear view of the view.

Summary: Wasn't one of our most memorable stays. Will be looking at other places to go in October.

Positive: The staff was very nice. Bed was comfortable.

Negative: I did not like the motion dectetec light that came on in the middle of the night if someone got up to the bathroom. Hallway floor needed vacuumed.
