Positive: Beautiful lush location. Glorious views from the large deck and from the bedrooms. A great group destination. Well equipped kitchen. The complimentary food items were a nice touch.

Summary: Paul has established a very relaxing and beautiful home. The extra studio apartment, which can be let on its own as well

Positive: The location is absolutely stunning, but the house is questionably worth the price. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking, with beautiful views and a very peaceful atmosphere. You couldn't see any houses across the valley in front. The pizza oven was great. The spa was good to have, but it had too much chlorine which gave 3 people a rash, it also needed a better cover to be able to get up to heat so it wasnt quite a hottub. The owner was helpful beforehand giving advice around how to use the pizza oven & spa, told us to bring bags of firewood but we could also use his.

Negative: However, the house itself is somewhat run down and lived-in. For instance, the fridge had food & the freezer was full of food, leaving little space for our groceries for feeding a big group. In spite of the listing saying check-out 10-10:30am, the owner sent the cleaner there 9:45am to catch people out doing the wrong thing. It was so disturbing to get an unfriendly cleaner knocking on bedroom doors, looking around & telling us to pack & leave. When I told her the time we had, she said it had always been 10. I definitely don't recommend you stay here if you have a few friends who might want to drop in from Byron. We did, & they slept in their vans. Sunday morning the owner also came & counted heads & saw there were extra; instead of confronting us as a group he waited till later & I (female) recieved a very aggressive phone call to strong arm me into paying more money for the extra heads. He accused us of holding an event, & when I was confused, he went on to accuse us of burning his table & we're lucky were not getting a $500 repair fee. We used place mats & wire racks, we're sure we didnt burn anything; in fact, we cleaned all tables, every dish, emptied all the bins... I readily agreed to pay, I understand its a business, but the way he spoke to me... was that really necessary? We had thanked him for his place & even given him $30 cash when we saw him to say thanks for extra wood. It really dampened the weekend away with friends for me.

Summary: Nice location, make sure you leave by 10am the next day.

Positive: Perfect set up for our group with 5 double beds - bedrooms good size. Great outlook. Good size kitchen and dining /living room

Negative: Outdoor space furniture in poor condition. Presentation outside untidy. Indoors too many personal items left out. Inadequate amount of glassware - eg only 3 few matching water glasses.

Summary: House worked for us as we only had 4 in our group
