Positive: We did not book a cottage/cabin, but we book a room in the main log building with self contained washroom. The room is clean, comfy and basic, but the common kitchen is fully equipped and dining hall huge and comfortable. While I book this accommodation, there was no mention of a common kitchen and dining facilities. Oh and there’s also a fridge in the room. No TV in the room but there’s a 65” TV in the common area which is great.

Positive: The location is gorgeous, along the Blanda River. The lovely owner upgraded us to a cabin with a private hot tub, which was so kind. The cottage was spacious, bright and homey.

Negative: Nothing - love it. Will return and recommend to others.

Positive: Solid experience, lovely location. There were no other guests so it was super quiet, and perhaps a little desolate. Really wonderful location.

Positive: It was pretty convenient, because we were doing the ring road and we needed a place to spend the night before arriving into Reikiavik again. It was in front of a restaurant that serves food from morning to 10 pm, which is not common in Iceland. There’s a gas station pretty near the property and a supply store. The room was spacious and clean.

Negative: We arrived into the property and there was no one at the reception. We had to call a number that was printed in a paper sheet on the window. But it wasn’t bad because they arrived maybe 5 minutes before we called.

Positive: The natural surroundings of the property are beautiful. Reindeer played in the field in front of the guesthouse. Glacier was visible from the property.

Negative: No food at night. Hotel within driving distance and a restaurant is not far away.

Summary: Remote guesthouse that met all of our needs. Access to the hot tubs was an added plus!

Positive: Room was large and clean. Wonderful kitchen facilities, made it easy to have a good breakfast. Owner/host was pleasant and helpful.

Negative: No soap for shower, just a hand soap that made my hands feel like sandpaper. No heating in room, it was very cold in the morning. Finally, my husband showered, and the slope from the shower caused water to go everywhere. Through the room out to the hallway.

Summary: Clean but very basic.
