Updated June 29 2021 . Great news!! restrictions have been lifted for travel in Canada so we will be taking bookings for the rest of the summer from all over Canada. We still have 13 days left in July from July 4th to 17th . Here is your chance to get our rental at a very reduced rate. From July 4 to July 10 for only $1200 tax included and from July 10th to 17th would be $1500 tax included .We usually charge $1900 a week.
We took that time to completely renovate and upgrade our rental. We finished painting the outside of the house last year . We put a new large deck in the front, replaced the back door, installed a new heat pump that cools and heats throughout the beach house. We painted the downstairs and brought two new large sofas as well. We will have Wifi as well now after years not being able to get it. Our guests will be happy to see all the new improvements. We are exciting to once again be able to open to everyone across Canada again.
Gladee's at Hirtle's Beach is a fourth generation, 150-year-old home ,newly renovated and restored to high stardards. Our family feels privileged to share it as a Nova Scotia cottage rental for guests to enjoy.
Each bedroom is furnished with family antiques and custom-designed pine furniture built by my father and I. The curtains were hand-sewn locally, original artwork is by your host Kevin Creaser -- that's me. As well, Gladee's has a unique gathering of Nova Scotian collectables.
Queen size bed and two doubles accommodate six. Two of the beds have antique frames used by my great-grandfather's family. We fitted them to new, quality mattresses which top box springs, thereby adding to our guests' comfort. Each bed has two night stands and two small, mood-setting table lamps. Soft romance or settling in for a good read, the choice is yours. The bedrooms have flashlights -- even if they're not needed, the youngsters enjoy using them!
Gladee's location is exceptional. The house perches next to some two-plus miles of white sandy beach which lays out the welcome mat to waders, body surfers and beachcombers. A stones throw away sits a protected, sandy-bottom lake that is popular with swimmers. For a truly unforgettable hike, continue along the beach to Gaff Point. Treasured by the Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy, local residents and visitors alike, it offers a stunning display of ocean, forest, rock cliffs and wildlife.

Summary: From before we arrived to the day we left, the hosts kept in contact and let us know what we needed to know every step of the way. When my daughter was ill they were very supportive and accommodating. This is the second time I have stayed here and I certainly will be coming back. The home is lovely and the hosts make it when more special. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Summary: With NO indication the VRBO website shows the cost of this CANADIAN property in US Dollars. I only discovered this when I saw my credit card statement. This is totally unacceptable and I will not deal with VRBO in the future because of this misrepresentation.

Summary: So comfortable and homey from the sofas to the beds and general ambiance. Just love it. Best view of the ocean and this weekend there was a storm with rains and winds. Very dramatic and beautiful! We were so impressed with how solid the house felt. Highly recommend.

Summary: Wonderful hosts, The house was very clean and Spacious. The view was absolutely beautiful and on the beach. A perfect family home with all the amenities. Even games and beach things , TV, WiFi etc. Beautiful unique art done by the owner. Like an art gallery really, It is 1/2 hour from shopping I.e Bridgewater, Lunenburg and Mahoney Bay but a beautiful beach location and private. We brought our meals with us or planned a day trip out. Summary: Spending 2 weeks at the cottage was wonderful. We wanted to be near the ocean and the cottage was steps away from the beach. It was so nice to hear the sound of the ocean through the windows when we went to bed as well as having coffee on the deck in the morning. The cottage was so close to the beach we would come home for lunch or bathroom breaks. No packing up the car and driving to the beach – it was right there. Just about every night we would be visited by 2-3 deer inspecting the yard or bedding down for the night. Kevin and Suzanne were wonderful hosts. They made sure we knew how to reach them throughout our stay. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend!!!

Summary: We were truly impressed with our accommodations and location of Suzanne's and Kevin's Beach Home. Communication before and during our stay was always promptly responded to which leaves you feeling as to how much the owners care about their renters. Attention to details would be rated highly, very clean and comfortable. There were porpoises, bald eagles, osprey and many deer to name a few of the wildlife at your doorstep. We had experienced 2 days of great weather and one day of a rainstorm which never dampened our day as were able to watch the waves. Mom and I truly loved our stay, and being able to reconnect, sharing stories and great memories since the pandemic had kept us apart for almost 2 years in this beautiful gem put the icing on the cake. Hope to come back with my husband next year.

Summary: Kevin & Suzanne were very welcoming leading up to our stay as well when we arrived. We brought a lot of stuff for the week but didn’t need much. The beach house had everything there we needed. Couldn’t beat having morning coffee watching the rolling waves off the deck. Your literally steps from the sand and my wife and kids & I spent everyday at the beach even when the weather wasn’t great! We left there relaxed as ever. Will definitely be back!!
