Positive: The host is amazing and very welcoming. The staff are kind and always ready to help. The lodge is comfortable, very clean, and has air conditioning. The balcony is large with a beautiful view and was one of my favourite spots to relax.

Negative: The location is a bit far from the center/supermarkets & the beach & because it’s on too of a hill, you’d definitely need a taxi to go anywhere

Positive: Was self catering which suited me.

Negative: The location on the ridge behind Gizo Town is a little remote from the main centre but a lovely rural feel among the ‘village’ feel beyond main town. $20 SBD each way by taxis to town.

Summary: Joy and Zima could not have been more helpful and very friendly and completely open and honest.

Positive: Is located 20 minutes walking distance from the town. The room and the toilet are so clean. Staff very helpful.

Positive: Gizo Lodge is a home away from home. We enjoyed the kitchen facilities and the view over the village from the back deck. We were able to organise all of our day trips from here and the owner organised our local transfer to Munda.

Negative: The wifi wasn’t working. The owner gave us her phone with wifi so we could use it for the duration of our stay. It’s cheap and easy to get a local SIM however the store was closed over Easter.

Positive: This was a lovely place to stay. It is kept spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful. There are two buildings each with several rooms. I stayed in the main building. I felt like I was in my own house with a nice kitchen and balcony with views over the hills.

Summary: Great place to stay at a very reasonable price.
