Positive: The location was excellent. We came with our dog and everything was well thought out to accommodate pets. The hosts were absolutely lovely and the place is beautiful. Thank you for this stay, we will be back!

Positive: Newly renovated, enthusiastic and super helpful hosts. Lovely little cottage with everything you need, comfortable and light filled whist remaining cool. Super facilities- beautiful swimming pool, and loads of games, equipment, things for the kids and husbands to do whilst the women relax!

Positive: We booked Poppy Place at Gîtes Le Chézeau for a short break and were genuinely impressed. Everything felt thoughtfully done, from the recently renovated interior to the way the space flows both indoors and out. It manages to feel modern without losing its charm, which isn’t easy to pull off. What really sets it apart are the shared facilities — the snooker barn in particular was a brilliant surprise and added a lot to our stay. Even with limited time, there was plenty to enjoy, and it’s clear this would be a fantastic spot for a longer summer stay, especially with the heated pool. The location is practical and peaceful: just a few minutes from the A20, yet surrounded by countryside. We spent time in La Souterraine and also discovered an excellent pizza place in a nearby village — a real highlight after a day out. Hosting was spot on. John and Michelle struck the perfect balance of being welcoming and available while letting us enjoy the space. A well-run gîte with character, great facilities, and a relaxed atmosphere — somewhere we’d happily return to and recommend to others.
