Les Cyprès is part of a converted stone farmhouse, set in a tranquil location, at the end of a private drive just a few miles outside the village of Pellegrue. It is an ideal base for couples and families on holiday.
The property is situated in the Entre-deux-Mers region, which is part of the Bordeaux wine producing area. The accomodation has wonderful views overlooking vines, fields and woodland. The large enclosed garden is maintained to a high standard. Though peaceful, Pellegrue and other local villages are within easy reach, each providing shops, supermarkets, boulangeries, banks and traditional weekly markets.
Every care has been taken to retain the character and original features of the house and each room is tastefully decorated and furnished, providing everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The saltwater pool equipped with a solar shower is for the exclusive use of visitors. The pool benefits from some of the best views the property has to offer.
The owners take pride in offering their visitors a warm welcome and provide a small welcome pack on arrival.
The main entrance to the gite leads from a stone-walled terrace with wisteria covered pergola, into a spacious and well lit dining room/lounge with flat screen television (UK channels) and DVD player. Internet access is available throughout the property.
The kitchen which overlooks the garden and pool, is well equipped with oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave oven.
A separate utility room provides a washing machine, ironing facilities, sink, freezer, storage space and rowing machine.
The master bedroom is situated on the ground floor with an en-suite shower room with wash-basin and wc.
On the first floor, there is a twin bedded room and a second shower room with wash-basin and wc.
On the same level, a spacious mezzanine can sleep one adult, or the area just used as an ideal snug area in which to relax or read.
The price includes bedlinen, bathroom towels, bath mats and tea towels, but we would ask you to please bring your own pool /beach towels.
For fortnightly bookings or more, clean bedlinen and towels are offered weekly.
There are no hidden costs regarding electricity and water consumption.
An end of let cleaning service may be arranged, to ensure your holiday ends on a relaxed note.
Guests visiting outside the peak season have the comfort of full central heating (gas) at an additional cost, by prior arrangement with the owners.
Outdoors:
The property is set in a large well maintained garden containing shrubs, trees and extensive lawn areas for making the most of the sunshine.
Guests have exclusive use of the private 9mx5m saltwater swimming pool (both shallow and deep end), which is equipped with a reglementary safety alarm.
The pool has a sizeable paved sun terrace, which provides a large parasol and sunloungers for every visitor.The pool can be seen from the dining terrace, kitchen and upper floor and has lovely panoramic views to be enjoyed.
A ping pong table is set in the lawn and an adjacent field may be used for ball games.
The stone walled dining terrace is equipped with garden furniture and is shaded by a pergola supporting wisterias that show an abundance of flowers in the spring. A gravel path leads off from this terrace to a fixed featured BBQ, set in the lawn.
Both the terrace, pool and garden areas offer complete privacy for guests to enjoy throughout their stay.
Wildlife to be seen and heard from the terraces may include deer, birds of prey, and the numerous house martins that are present in summer. If you may be visiting in Spring or Autumn you may be lucky to witness some of the many hundreds of migrating cranes.
For the comfort and safety of all our guests, there is a no smoking policy on the property and we are sorry that we are not able to accept animals.

Summary: We spent a wonderfully peaceful week in this gite. Having rented a number of properties over the years, this one was the best equipped holiday home we've ever stayed in, and incredibly clean. The pictures do not do it justice, and it was very spacious for a family of 4. The location was very quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful garden with amazing views across the vineyards. The pool was perfect for both us and our daughters to cool off and play in. Pippa and Phillipe were brilliant hosts, on hand and helpful if required (with plenty of local information), but otherwise unseen, leaving us to thoroughly enjoy our stay there.

Summary: We didn’t know what to expect when we booked but we weren’t disappointed in any way . The Gite is isolated amongst acres of vineyards in peaceful tranquility. The facilities are just like being at home-there’s nothing you don’t have . The garden area and pool are simply a place where you leave the stress of life behind and just relax and recharge. The welcome from Pippa and Philippe is so personal you feel as if you’ve know them for ages, and the 2 bottles of wine they provide,help you settle in straight away. If you’re looking to get away from life, de stress, recharge and have a wonderful relaxing holiday just book this Gite and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Thank you P&P .

Summary: We’ve had a lovely family holiday in this fabulous gite. It really is exceptional, equipped with everything we needed (and more), very well appointed, immaculately clean and tidy, and beautifully decorated whilst maintaining the character of the property. The setting is magical. Extremely tranquil set right amongst the vineyards. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sun rise above the vines, cooling off in the pool, dining on the terrace and playing pétanque and other games on the lawn in the evenings. The location is perfect for exploring the region. We had lots of day trips out to very picturesque villages - Eymet, Issigneac, St.Emilion, Duras, Monsegur to name a few. The evening markets are a must. We were provided with a lovely welcome pack upon arrival by Philippe and Pippa who were extremely discreet, however, were on hand to provide recommendations and ideas for places to eat, visit and activities to enjoy. There was also an information folder and a wealth of leaflets to help plan our stay. The gite is extremely private and is a perfect for unwinding and enjoying the surrounding areas. We’ve had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend this beautiful property. We will be returning. The Barnes Family.

Summary: This gîte is of a very high standard. Pippa has thought of every little thing you might need for your stay. Although we do eat out on holidays, we also like to cook and when a lot of accommodations state ‘fully equipped’, they’re not. Well Cyprès really delivers. If you’re flying into the area, this is perfect, because you will not need to run out & buy all those little bits and pieces like kitchen towel, laundry powder, dish washer tablets, toilet roll, etc Eveything is there, salt, pepper, spices - even tea and coffee to start you off! Phillipe and Pippa (who live next door & are on hand, ready to help, if needed) were both there to welcome us with a couple of bottles of wine and a pot of local jam, all very much appreciated. The gardens and pool area are beautiful, such a relaxing and peaceful location. We can recommend the area, so many beautiful little towns and villages from ten to forty minutes away. A day trip to Bordeaux was easy and Bergerac is an absolute must! Pippa recommended the night markets to us and they were also a really lovely thing to do. Summary: We were captivated by the serenity and scenic views surrounding the property. Our part of the house was spacious and elegant with all the modern conveniences. The owners were unobtrusive but always available. Their recommendations and responses to our inquiries were invaluable. It was a treat to observe some of the fall harvest and to visit many of the nearby villages and historical sights. Summary: We had the pleasure of staying for one week in this beautiful location and had a marvellous holiday. The surrounding area is delightful with plenty to do as well as stunningly pretty villages and scenery. Our hosts provided everything you could need, the property was maintained to a very high standard with nice personal touches like the eggs from their hens as well as own grown tomatoes as part of a welcome. The pool was one of the main attractions for us for this villa and it does not disappoint. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and it is well equipped with plastic cups and wine glasses for those all important drinks by the pool. We were not blessed with sun everyday but there was so much to do within easy reach of the car that we balanced it all and still managed to use the pool most days and get sun burnt!
