Positive: It was bright and comfortable and located close to D-Day Beaches, and only 5 min drive to the Battery and a 10 minute walk to the cliffs.

Negative: As others have noted it would be nice if the towels and sheets were included and if the host provided more basic amenities. I would also recommend better signage on the unit to avoid confusion with another unit at the same address.

Positive: Loved the location, close to Bayeux but far enough away that it was quiet. Close to the battery and other WW2 sites we were there to see. Lots of space, good for our family of 4. Good space in the driveway for a car. Kitchen had everything we needed (plates, silverware, etc.). Beds and couches were comfortable.

Negative: No hand soap or hand towels provided in bathrooms. Linens were provided upon request (and extra $), but we had to make up the beds ourselves and strip them when we left, which was a hassle. The lockbox wasn't on the gite itself, but a shed/garage next to it (was not described well from host), so it took a minute to find.

Summary: Nice, quiet location near WW2 sites and Bayeux, mostly a good place to stay

Positive: Beautiful new bathroom, the hot water. The rock and wood stairs, the old farm house. Kitchen was new with dishes, nice kitchen table. Area was charming.

Negative: No clothes dryer, no bathroom soap or shampoo. Hard, rough, thin, towels. The front door would not lock from the outside. The bathroom floor wasn’t clean. Be aware no sheets or towels provided, an extra 45 euros for old, rough, worn sheets.

Summary: Disappointed with the amenities, towels, sheets, pillows. With a few upgrades it would be a charming country cottage.

Positive: The location was super convenient for visiting all of the Normandy WWII sites. The house was large enough for the family and comfortable. Two full bathrooms made showers easier. The kitchen was fully furnished and had plenty of dishes to use.

Positive: Location was perfect, and it was convenient to have parking on site. Lots of beds and a cozy house.

Negative: We had to message the host for check-in instructions at 16:00, and she asked if we needed linens, which we assumed were included in the price. We told her they were needed and we didn't hear back for several hours. They were delivered at 20:30 in a basket and we had to make the beds ourselves, which might not have been a problem but I wanted my children to be able to go to bed earlier. Some of the bed sheets were brand new in packaging (I usually wash new sheets before using), and some were very old and pilling. The towels were old and in bad condition. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. There was only one half of a roll of toilet paper for the two bathrooms, and no soap for the dishwasher or the dishes. We didn't realize this until we went to wash dishes, and so we didn't have time to go to the store to buy any. We loaded the dishwasher so the host could easily run it during cleaning. After we left we received a rude note from the host saying we had left the house in bad condition because we hadn't run the dishwasher or returned the stools to the top of the table (we were not asked to do this). We have stayed at about 20 hotels and houses through Booking.com over the last year, and never have we had an experience like this. I would not recommend staying here. We usually only stay at places rated over 8.0, and even though this house had that rating I don't think it meets that standard.
